Kotaro's POV

November 16th

I was eating the melon bread I had bought from the convenience store on the way to the academy. I had wanted to cook a good meal for breakfast only to find that the refrigerator is empty.

(Sigh..I'll have to buy ingredients while coming back home.)

(Now for another important matter, I wonder how long I have to stay at the academy for before it all begins. It's been two months since I've transferred. I've gotten quite close with Mei and even made few friends with those sitting around my seat. Come to think of it I haven't seen Kiana yet. Was she supposed to transfer this month or next month I wonder.)

I stood near the road leading to the school and read the newspaper I bought from the convenience store.
'Caution adviced to Students to not go near dark alleys, as a 3rd high school girl found dead in one' it read.

I felt another Sigh leave my lips as I finished reading it.

(This was another matter which was going on during these days. There has been a serial killer on the loose. Two students were found dead in dark alleys. First was a first year girl who was found with a deep cut in her stomach. She had bled to death. A week later in a different alley same thing happened to a second year boy. And now the third.)

(This all happened in the distance around the academy so I have a few guesses but no evidence....but I will leave this to the cops. I'm just a normal student after all.)

Closing the newspaper and throwing it into the bin and went to the academy.

. . . . . .

I was sitting in the classroom at my seat chatting with Mei and others about the upcoming exams in January. We were waiting for the class to begin.

Timeskip

The class went by as a breeze and soon I was at the rooftop with Mei and we were having lunch. I as usual was having snacks bought from cafeteria since I didn't bring lunch from home. Mei looked at my lunch and sighed.

"Kotaro, I told you it's not healthy to eat those during lunch."

"Can't help it. Didn't have any ingredients to make lunch."

"Then you could have called me, I would have cooked something for you."
She pouted.

She had cooked for me before and told me that she could do so whenever I wanted something or when didn't bring lunch.

"I feel guilty when I ask you to do that after all when I ask you to cook you have to do extra work since you have to even cook for your father and yourself too. Why not consider letting the cooks to make the lunch?" I asked even though I can already guess the answer.

"I can't do that! My father likes getting my handmade lunch and..." She paused , "I would rather make your lunch since it's you.." She said the last part rather silently so that I wouldn't hear it.

"You said something?"

"N-nothing." She took a piece of food and ate it and turned her face away.

"I'm grateful that you are so enthusiastic in making me lunch." I smirked.

"S-so you did hear it!" She called out red faced.

The rest of the lunch time passed with me talking to her about her club and me teasing her in between.

Timeskip

The class was over and I escorted Mei to her waiting driver. After waving to her, I left in the direction of my home.
It was rather dark as I had waited for Mei to finish her club.
