Chapter 15

Kotaro's POV

Taking the binoculars from the bag, I looked through it towards the entrance.

It has been 8 hours since I had jumped from the plane and used the parachute to land in a location a bit far from the labs to avoid detection. I used the 8 hours to map the possible entrances, exits, the guards locations and location of the lab where I am to steal the information.

There were immortal blades valkyries all round the place. Thankfully they didn't seem alert, mostly cause I doubt anybody would want to come there.

Due to my surveillance, I even gained the skill detection which allowed me to know the location of nearby enemies for 10meters. It was level 2 by now. The distance will increase as the level increases. All in all quite a useful skill.

I looked at my watch. The time was 4am now. I should hurry up.

Sil: 'Master, a question.'

I was getting ready to infiltrate.

'Yeah. What is it?'

Sil:' Weren't you a normal school student before this? How do you seem so well versed in this? It was almost seems like you've done this before.'

I smiled with nostalgia.

'I was a veteran in Stealth based games. I've played so many and learnt much from it. I was even able to finish hitman missions without need of disguises. So you might say.. I'm something of an assassin myself.'

Sil:'uh..okay?'

I understand that there is quite quite difference between a game and what could happen in real life but somethings can't be too different and I am in a game world after all. I shook my head.

'Anyway Sil warn me if there is a chance that they might be too close to me or if they are able to see me. You are able to use detection by yourself too right?'

Sil:' Understood master.'

I slowly made my way to the labs.

I finally reached the entrance to the underground labs. Using the keycard, I stole from a unsuspecting Valkyrie I entered the lab.

Sil: 'Master, won't the cardscanner has logs of the usage?'

'In the Intel Theresa gave me, it said that those will only be checked once in a month or so. That's why it should be fine. And even if they were to check it anytime sooner. They would just think of it as being someone being too curious and reprimand them.'

'Skill: detection used'

I saw the sp lowering slowly but it was worth it. I had managed to sneak inside, wouldn't want someone to compromise the mission just because they wanted to go to washroom and ended up seeing me.

I walked towards the main lab silently with my footsteps making no noise.

While the outside was considerably guarded, the inside wasn't as much. I guess no one liked it inside.

I passed by many jails and cages. Mostly where they threw the test subjects after experiments. Remembering Sirin's story made me angry. They didn't even try to treat the test subjects with care. I get the feeling that if I was in Sirin's place I would be angry too.

I passed by the cell where Sirin and her friends were there. Where she lost all her friends and became alone. Where she gave up on humanity..

I looked in. It was gloomy looking cell. I felt that if I blinked the bodies of the poor children might appear.
