His Confession

chapter 28 Sorry

Ryan looked at her intently, he waited until she stopped crying and rubbed off tears from her cheeks. He slowly leaned in and captured her lips in a sweet kiss. His heart ached to see her like this, he felt like a jerk to leave her alone in this situation knowing that she had only him and Liam. He was angry at himself; all he wanted to do was to smash every single thing in his office but he refrained himself from doing so. Pulling away from the kiss he said.
" Jhon found out."
" what ?"
" That you are living with me and that I stopped him from reaching you. He left a note, saying next time I won't be able to save you or myself."
" when ?"
" In the car, that day when I led the guys to the police, it was on the passenger seat."
" Ohh. Jesus, what do I do now ? should I run away ?"
" How long will you run ? You have your freedom to live and running away from this won't help you."
" I should've never come here, I dragged you in my mess. I am so sorry Ryan." Alexa said tearing up again.
" Frankly speaking, I am glad you came here and I met you in that cafe late at night because if I didn't meet you, I would've never realized that I could have someone who really cares about me or my needs or my likes, dislikes and notice every small details about me or go through so much just to gain my attention. Before I met you I had other girls but all of them thought that they can get me by sex and money. Daughters of business men they are all bratty and full of themselves by putting on makeup and other stuff. "
Ryan looked at her and held her small face in his large hands.
" But you were something different, you didn't look at me like a piece of meat, You respected my boundaries, didn't throw yourself at me. Even after what you have been through you trusted me and came to my house. I would never think of you as a burden baby, you are breaking my heart saying that. I was busy trying to find him. Everytime i find something it leads me to a dead end, it's like I am running in dark with no light. It's frustrating and it feels like madness. " Ryan said looking away from her and getting angry thinking about Jhon taking her away from him.
" But how did he know ?"
" I don't know. "
" Ryan, I am sorry. I accused you for so many things while all the while you kept thinking about my safety and my better life. I am so sorry, Ryan. please forgive me." Alexa said wondering why did she even think about all those things embarrassing herself.
" I am sorry too, I should've told you about the note. I just thought that it would worry you more and I didn't want you to worry about anything until you are with me. come on, don't beat yourself up for things you didn't know. "
Alexa smiled at him  noticing that he had gained slight dark circles underneath his eyes and was having frown on his forehead. She put her fingers on his forehead making it go away and In response of Ryan closing his eyes and sighing.
" Come on, now take these back --" Ryan said handing her back the envelope full of money. "-- and buy some shoes or cloths for yourself maybe. Get back to work Miss Harrington, there are lots of pending files that needs to be completed today and i won't be happy if you didn't complete them until evening. "
" And what will you do, if I don't complete it Mr. Wesley?"
" Ahh, You have earned a punishment for calling me Mr. Wesley if you want to add more then go ahead and don't complete your files. I am sure you remember what the punishment is, as i said the very first day you came in my office." Alexa laughed out. Ryan winked at her as she walked to the door making her giggle. Ryan smiled at her and realized that he loved her and adored her more than anything else in his life.
It was evening when they both walked out hand in hand after most of the employees left, Ryan decided that today he will spend the day with her leaving everything for a while and live the moment with Alexa. He also thought today maybe he will tell her what he felt for her. It was clear that Alexa liked him, he was not sure about love but he was happy even if things went slowly or stayed just the way they are right now.

The couple walked out of the company talking and smiling completely oblivious to the pair of eyes watching them from across the street in a black Lamborghini. Jhon was angry that the girl went out of his hands years ago and now she is happy with the only man he hated the most. Jhon remembered the day when Ryan beat him to almost death before leving him in the pool of his blood in his senior year, He felt weak like he never belonged in this world. he hated it, he had his dad to help him with everything.
Jhon remembered that Alexa's father the ex-boxer had fought Jhon's father who later died due to multi organ failure. But he knew he died because Alexa's father Charles Harrington had beat him so worse that he couldn't take anymore.  Jhon wanted revenge, when he thought that he use his only daughter who never knew about his profession and that will be the living hell for him, this torture to him will be unbearable. Ryan will just be a collateral damage. He will give them all the emotional torture he went through due to them years ago. He smirked to himself under the black mask he wore inorder to hide his face. Jhon was ready to proceed to the next part of his plan and lure them into the den he created. He was soon going to get his revenge with the people who made his life hell.
