1:42 AM

Sitting on the couch with Abel, we go through homes on the market that are around the area while I put away a pack of Chips Ahoy cookies.

"Oh, I like this one" he pauses to show me, and I lean forward giggling as I shake my head.

"You want to live in a castle?" I peer up to see his face and he shrugs flipping through the pictures.

"A fitting home for my queen, no?" He asks rubbing his hand along my leg that rests in his lap.

"For three months? I don't think so, we need something more practical. Next"

Rolling his eyes, he backs out of that house to keep scrolling.

We've been in Toronto for a week now and during that time Abel has been very adamant about finding us a house to live in. Says he wants to be moved in by my birthday, so we'll be able to spend our second Christmas together in our first home as husband and wife.

I thought that was sweet.

I'll admit that at first, I wasn't on board with idea about moving to Toronto. But the thought about going back to California kind of made me a little depressed so I decided to give living in another country a try. Part of my family is from here now; I should get to know them.

Maybe not Michelle, but his other cousins seem nice and accepting of me.

Showing me another home, I slightly raise my eyebrows in interest. "Oh, now this place looks nice. Go through the pictures real fast." Doing as I say, I smile when a picture of an elevator comes up, "This one" I take his phone to keep looking and I really like what I see despite the home decor being predominantly white. I'm sure we can liven the place up a little.

"Well damn, all right" he smiles taking his phone back to select the contact information to let the owner know we're interested. "Told you it wouldn't take too long to find a place"

"I guess. We still have to buy furniture and stuff" I take a bite of another cookie.

"Start looking tomorrow" he tells me. "Hopefully by the time I get back from Paris, we'll have a tour set up to check the place out"

Hearing him talk about Paris my heart kindly sinks. I'm not sad he's singing for Victoria's Secret, I'm sad because Bella is going to be there, and I won't. Something like that shouldn't bother me but deep down it does.

"Should we get to bed then? What time does your flight leave again?"

"Twelve" he responds turning his phone off to lay his head back against the couch cushions. "But I'm too wired to sleep, if you wanna lay down you can" he looks at me.

"I'm fine right here" I answer laying my head on the cushion too.

A smile, he squeezes my leg as he peers back up to the ceiling and I can tell there's more than this new house on his mind. I can't guess what it is he could be worried about besides my recovery and every time I ask he says it's nothing.

I had thought we were past him lying about his feelings.

Sitting on the couch a little while longer I end up falling asleep until the next morning. Startled awake by my phone, I look at it to see it's my mom.

Her and dad stayed here for a little while longer to make sure I found another doctor.

My dad was also very interested to find out Abel and I are married and were expecting a baby though he hasn't really said anything about the second part which I appreciate.
