Chapter 44 - Doubts

A/N: I'm really sorry, i thought Tamayo was still finding a way to get rid of Muzan's curse on Daki so I didn't include them during the last chapter. I don't think I can repair it anymore but i'll say it here,

Daki and Tamayo stayed at the Void Estate cuz they wouldn't want to risk getting burned in the sun.

Arifu came home before the hashira meeting and hugged them both, Ume cried (not like that annoying way in S2) and Tamayo shed some tears.

Again, im terribly sorry. I'll try to remember more stuff in the upcoming chapters and to improve as much as i can.

"I'm sorry, Arifu..." Shinobu muttered as she held on for a few more seconds before being fully pushed back...

"Don't doubt yourself," The demon's head was gone in an instant,

"Shino-chan."

With just a slight noise of a blade slicing through flesh, the demon's head was on the ground and started to disintegrate.

"Ahh, been a while since I killed a normal demon. Quite the change after all these Upper Rank battles." Arifu said to nobody as he stretched his arms,

"I'm sorry..." Shinobu muttered as she kneeled on the ground while crying,

"I can't even cut a normal demon's head off, I'm too weak.."

"Hey, who says you're weak?" Arifu asked with a serious face,

He kneeled as well and cupped Shinobu's cheeks in his hands,

"You. Are. The. Insect. Hashira, Kocho. Shinobu." Arifu said,

"Just because you can't cut a demon's head off it doesn't mean you're useless..."

"But," Shinobu tried to argue,

"No. You are a pharmaceutical expert. You have made many antidotes for demon poison and treated countless of Demon Slayers." Shinobu went silent after that,

"The Demon Slayer Corps wouldn't be like what it is today without you and your family's efforts, know that." Arifu poked her forehead,

Shinobu was speechless, she couldn't manage to say another word as she realised that what Arifu said was true.

"I-I'm sorry..."

Arifu wrapped his arms around Shinobu in a loving embrace as he caressed her head,

"I only thought about what I lack and not what I already have..." She snuggled into him,

"It's alright... Just don't doubt yourself anymore, okay?" Arifu asked as she nodded.

"You're amazing, you know that?" He asked to which Shinobu doesn't respond but continued hugging him.

They enjoyed each other's embrace for a while before Arifu had come up with an idea.

"Hey, Shino-chan, let's go to the nearest town and eat dinner?" Arifu asked,

"What about the others at the Butterfly Estate?" Shinobu replied with a worried look,

"Don't worry, it'll just be a few hours." He said with a smile,

"Are you su-" Shinobu was cut off as she suddenly got lifted off the ground,

Arifu was carrying her bridal style as he ran towards the nearest town.
