"Bree, I don't believe it... you were actually speechless back there with Travis around. You really need to swallow your fear and ask him out. He clearly likes you".
"I know, I know... Do you really think so? I mean what if he actually doesn't like me, and all of the signs that I think are there, are actually all made up in my head."
"You're funny. Trust me, he likes you. Suck it up girl. Either ask him out already or show him that you're into him".
Bree just glares at me. "And what about you? Ethan clearly likes you and you keep pushing him away. Who's the hypocrite".
"I know. I feel bad about that. I just have this weird feeling about him, something that I have never felt with anyone, EVER. I just don't want to confuse myself with my real feelings and the way how my body feels when I'm around him".
"I've known Ethan for several years now. My brother says that he's a good guy. I know that he has this sexy, dangerous, bad boy look going on, but if my brother says that he's a good guy, then he means it. I'll tell you what... if you start being nice to Ethan, and give him a chance", she then takes a deep calming breath before says quickly says, "I will ask out Travis".
"Deal".
Speaking of the devil, Koen and Ethan make their presence known. Koen encourages us to cover up if we don't feel comfortable. I look down, I'm good... all the main parts are covered up. Koen asks us if we're ok and if we need anything. We assured him that we're ok.
As the guys are approaching, I start to squeeze the water out of my hair; when it's wet, it gets super heavy. I then noticed Ethan staring at my back. Strange he looks shocked at what he sees. Does that mean that he can see the symbols too? Or is he just able to see my scar like Bree? I'm nervous about the answer to both of these questions. I'll just get into the water to avoid the questioning stares.
I tell myself to give him a chance. Let's see where this goes. Koen mentioned that Ethan wants to know how I'm feeling today after yesterday's adventure. I assure them both that I feel better today than yesterday, and thank Ethan. Of course, I leave out the part of today's adventure of seeing things, and knocking myself out.
For a moment, it looked like he was going to leave. I hope he stays. It would be nice to get to know him better... and see what he looks like under those clothes if he goes swimming... oh my god girl... calm down, get ahold of yourself.
Yay! He is going to stay. Thankfully, Koen is going back to the shop. I mean he is nice and all, but he is Bree's brother, and far too old to be hanging out with us; it would just be weird and awkward.
Whoa... He is taking off his shirt. OMG... I can see that sexy dip in his hips. Look that that treasure trail; I'd like to see where that goes. Holy mother... look at those delicious abs, they look like they go on forever. Now his shirt is fully off, he's using it to wipe off his sweat... I can help you with that. Wow! look at those arms, his chest and oh my god, look at his back and shoulders. Crap, don't drown yourself, keep swimming you idiot.
Just as I reminded myself that I need to at least tread water while I stare at Ethan, something grabs ahold of my legs and pulls me under. I can't see anything at first except for the bubbles that I'm releasing from my mouth. Then I catch a glimpse of something. As I fight back, I am also trying to focus on what is pulling me down, then I see these terrifying looking creatures with black eyes, and huge sharp looking teeth. Holy Christ... what is that? Whatever it is, it's trying to kill me.
All of a sudden, I realize that Ethan is here helping me. He is pulling them off me, so he must be able to see them too. I'm not going crazy! But I am almost out of air...my vision is starting to get blurry; it's getting darker and I can feel us going deeper. Then all of a sudden Ethan's lips are on mine. I quickly realize that he is going to give me air, I greedily suck in all the air he has to give. I see him surface. I know that he needs more air and I pray that he comes back.
In no time at all, he is back and makes quick work of the remaining creatures holding me down. They're scratching and biting him, but he doesn't seem to notice. The creatures seem to have let go of me now. Ethan has my waist in a firm grip, and then next thing I realize, we're being shot up to the surface. I start gasping for air, and coughing up water. I'm so light headed, I can't even help Ethan get to shore.
I don't even realize that we're on the beach. I'm still petrified, and I can't let go of Ethan. He is so gentile with me, I let him lower my arm. Then his hands are all over me, I assume that he is checking for missing limbs, I mean I can't feel anything right now.
I can hear him talking to someone but I can't focus right now. I do hear him ask me if I want him to take me home, and I just agree by nodding my head. After he helps me dress. I am at least aware enough to say goodbye to Bree, her brother and Travis. I can see that Daren is going our direction. But once Ethan gets me settled into the car, I can't help myself, and I let exhaustion take over me, and I sleep.
