I squinted my eyes as the bright rays of sunlight fell straight on my face through the windows. The pain in my body made it difficult to even open my eyes
Letting out a low sigh, I placed my hand over my chest and flustered. The cherry heat in my cheek started to become more redder. Suddenly my body tingled as my thoughts were slipping into last night.
Last Night:
I broke into tears within seconds as he allowed me to rest on his shoulder. He listened to my tears silently as he kept patting the back of my palm to reassure it's okay
Slowly my tears turned into sobs as the energy in me was draining. Then soon it became clear quite in my ears. I was still resting my head on his warm shoulder being unable to even move
Few minutes passed in silence until—
"why did you save me?"
—until Prince Taehyung questioned me in a low and hazy tone still brushing the back of my palm with his thumb, which made me tingle along the pain
"i..I don't know either" i said with my creaky voice. He slightly pulled me away from his brace and made me look into his alluring dark eyes
He was already looking straight into my eyes intensely making me flustered. He neither blinked nor spoke. Suddenly yet slowly his strong gaze slid down from my eyes to my slightly parted lips. I gulped thickly my breath became heavier as he kept staring me
"I- i"
"Shushh" he pressed his forefinger gently on my lips then softly caressed my lower lip. My heart raced so fast that i might faint any second
As if like we were falling into a trance, unknowingly yet knowingly, we both leaned in linking our foreheads, our eyes closed, allowing the heat to grew more. My stomach started to tingle more and more as I could feel my heart beating in every part of my body. But—
—"LADY HUI? PRINCE TAEHYUNG?"
We both were startled to hear some noises around us. Prince Taehyung immediately tightened the grip around my waist as his other hand trailed my hair, stroking it gently to make sure it's okay
"General Jung!?" I screamed whispering as I recognised his voice right away
But however Prince Taehyung's intense stare was still on me. He swiftly took my right hand and left a peck in my palm making me go all crazy for him "thank you" he whispered in my ear making me weak. And without any warning, yet carefully he lifted me in his arms revealing ourselves to the group of soldiers searching for us
General Jung came running as he saw us "LADY HUI!? WHA-"
"The horse" Prince Taehyung demanded as a sign not to come near. General Jung's gaze moved to mine as I gently nodded in reply and he pulled the horse near us.
Prince Taehyung gently placed me on the horse making me sit facing him and quickly grabbed the rein as he hopped on the horse sitting behind me. He adjusted his position and gently pulled me by my shoulder, making me lean on his chest.
He wrapped his strong hands around me and asked me if i was ready. I slightly nodded in response and he immediately walked the horse slowly since i was injured. General Jung and the other soldiers quietly followed us behind
I closed my eyes as I rested safely on Prince Taehyung's chest. His beating heart sounded more like a lullaby of warmth than the normal lub-dub. Inspite of the pain, inspite of the situation, inspite of the time and inspite of every other possibilities and norms, i hoped to hear this beating heart forever
End of flashback.
Somehow he feels like home I said to myself and chuckled flustering
"Lady Hui?!"
I immediately turned in surprise only to see Yuri's worried face
"Ah" i groaned a little in pain
"My lady" Yuri nagged "please don't ever get hurt" she added as she held my hand in fear
"It's okay. Im fine now" i let out a big grin to reassure
"Your not" she cried "I almost died when i saw Prince Taehyung carrying you, covered with a blood soaked dress" she looked at me worriedly. But I reassured her with a wide grin despite the pain.
