"I really am from the future"
Silence ruled us. I couldn't understand just why did I spat this nonsense right now. But i did and I don't want to hide it anymore. He likes Lady Hui so much. I can't take that for granted. I should never.
"Your highness.. i..I deserve to be punished i was just acting greedy and took advantage of every time we met—"
"You should at least try a lie which is more believable to reject me" he said as he looked away
"That's not a lie. I.. i really don't belong here. I-"
"That's enough now. Go back" he said turning away
"I can prove that to you"
"You don't have t-"
"Please.. please come with me" I said and dragged him all the way upstairs to Lady Hui's room. He never stopped or questioned me but he just followed me quietly
I let his hand go once we were standing in Lady Hui's room in front of the dresser
"Lady Hui why are we here?" He questioned me crossing his arms over his chest
"Your highness.. do you.. do you remember that day I said I dropped something down?"
"Yes I do"
"Can you please...help me take that?" I asked looking down
"Are you still taking advantage of me" he said as he chuckled
"Prince Taehyung i-"
He walked passed me laughing as he lifted the dresser. I quickly took out the letter covered with spider's web and dusted it.
To Y/n
I looked at it once and gave it to him "Please... read this your highness.."
He didn't question me but took the letter from me and stared at it
"To Y/n?" He glared at me making me weak
"Your highness please..please forgive me. I didn't intend to lie to you but every time we met, I was just so happy that I was greedy all this time.."
He wouldn't speak. He just opened the letter immediately amd started reading "Y/n i am Lady Hui" he read as my eyes popped open he looked at me unbelieving as he continued to read
"I know it is ridiculous to read this but it is what it is. And i know that you know how does it feel when i am writing this for you. And i know that you are too startled to even believe what you are reading. Trust me and think about everything im gonna say carefully. You will find all the answers in this letter"
I knew something was wrong with this letter. I cried inside. I mustered up my courage and listened to every single word carefully
"A year ago my mother was killed by the King Kim Jong Suk because she knew a secret of him. Everyone accused me because the king said i am the reason behind my mother's death. And ever since that, father became lonely and silent"
Prince Taehyung paused but I never looked at him once afraid of something might happen
"One night I heard my father talking to my mother's portrait alone. He said he missed mother. He said he missed the life he had before coming here. He said he missed Su- ah. He said he missed y/n. That night he said quite a lot that made me realise all these time they weren't my real parents"
He read as tears welled up in my eyes falling one by one in shock. My eyes almost fell down and my heart almost stopped as i sat weakly on the cold floor
"Three years ago, my father and mother had found that mirror near the river banks. And ever since then, they weren't my parents anymore. That night, he said he doesn't want me to feel burdened and that's why he kept silent. But all these time I've misunderstood him"
Prince Taehyung stopped reading and came closer "that's enough—"
"Please continue.. i..I don't want to cry alone" i said holding my knees tightly. He looked at me once before continuing
"Y/n they both missed you so much all this time. I know I couldn't send them back to you but i hope i brought you here. I know it's stupid but I really cannot live here baring all these in my mind. I sound selfish don't i? But I just want you to protect your father. Sorry that I couldn't protect your mother. I..i didn't want to lose him too"
I broke into tears as Prince Taehyung pulled me towards his shoulders and rubbed my back. He stroked down my hair as tears kept flowing from my eyes
"The king killed our mother so i I wanted to seek revenge and tried to.. tried to.."
"What's wrong?" I asked him with tear filled eyes as he suddenly started stuttering
"Can you please read this?" He said giving me the letter. I took the letter weakly from him as I started reading
"I wanted to seek revenge and tried to... tried to seduce Prince Taehyung. I couldn't. But half way through, I realised that I've fallen for real with this man. We are connected by hearts Y/n. Even though I wouldn't know anything about what's happening, there is nothing more than I want except seeing you fulfilling your love story which i... wanted. Desperate aren't i?"
I read with sobs as I couldn't bring myself to believe this whole letter. Tears kept flowing down amd Prince Taehyung seemed to be blurted out
"Your highness.. i..."
"Lady Hui knew about this too" he suddenly whispered in a trance
"Too?"
