It was the next day when they all woke up in their rooms. Matt was laying on some papers spread across his bed, snoring. Alaina and Irelin were in their room, also knocked out. There was a knock on the door and Alaina reluctantly got up and walked over. She looked through the peephole before opening it.

     "Housekeeping." the small woman said.

"Hi. Can you come back in about an hour?" Alaina crossed her arms trying to cover herself and smiling.

"Sure. No problem, ma'am." the lady pushed the cart down the hall to the next set of doors.

Alaina put the door stop on and stepped across the hall and banged on Matt's door. It took a couple knocks before he opened the door, one eye half closed and hair disheveled.

     "Up and moving." Alaina stated.

"Good Morning to you too, dear Alaina." Matt said sarcastically. "I was sleeping so well before you pounded on my door."

"Good Morning." Alaina rolled her eyes and walked back to her room. Irelin was already getting ready in the bathroom.

"Morning!" Irelin cheered, after spitting out her mouthwash.

"Morning." Alaina said, going into the toilet room.

"I thought we could get breakfast to-go from downstairs and head out to the office building."

"What is there to do at the office?" Alaina asked.

"Break in and figure out what they have in there."

"And let Jasper know we are on to him?"

"We scope out the place, find our best way in and see if we can figure out what's going on. We need to get inside to figure out our next steps.

"Or we can wait on Chris to call us back." Alaina suggested, coming out and washing her hands.

"Lain, we tried calling him all last night. He's ghosting us."

"He's not ghosting us. Why would he?"

"I don't know. But it's odd. Has he done this before?"

"Once or twice. Both times he was in an official meeting and couldn't reach out. Why are you getting suspicious?"

"I'm not. I just think we are on our own. We should just be more self sufficient and do things for ourselves. We shouldn't have to call and check in all the time."

"Lin, I know it's been a while but we always worked with him like this. You liked working with him."

"Yeah, but we've all grown. It's not like he could truly help us; he's not in the field with us."

"And he trusts us to make in-the-moment decisions. That's our independence. But a big move like this - a move that could jeopardize the whole mission - needs to go through him."

     Irelin sighed.

Alaina walked out of the bathroom and grabbed her phone. She called Chris. Three attempts later and he still wasn't picking up.

Irelin walked out and saw her holding her phone.

     "Still not answering?"

"Screw it." Alaina said. "If he can't answer, then we are on our own. Glad this isn't some emergency."

"So we are going back to the office building?"

"I see no reason to keep stalling this. Let's go."
