One year later
Yoongi pov
A knock on my door woke me up from my sleep. It wasn't easy to open my eyes. The entire night I had been twisting and turning and it was probably only max 3 hours ago I was able to successfully fall asleep.
I had been dreading this day for weeks now.
The door creaked and as I very slowly opened my eyes I saw hoseok's face appear from behind the door
'Yoongi, we will leave in an hour.' he instructed me.
'yeah okay' I answered
'Do you need anything?' Hoseok asked hesitantly
'no'
I didn't bother changing or anything at all actually. I barely had the strength to get out of bed. I wanted to stay here the entire day, hide under the blankets, not facing all the faces of my friends who looked at me with pity.
I knew they meant well, and I would be the same.
How do you talk to someone that lost their girlfriend exactly a year ago?
Hoseok and I lived with his little brother and their group, the 7 of us. Their entire group made it to Jeju and we were honestly so relieved when we found out. I think another loss would be something we couldn't cope with.
They were all waiting for me in the hallway. As expected, all of them looked at me with sadness in their eyes. They greeted me but that was it, I guess they understood leaving me be for a while was the best approach.
Hoseok and I arrived at the dock where the boat was, but Namjoon and Jin weren't here yet so we waited for them before boarding. Not much later I saw them in the distance walking towards us hand in hand. Not long after y/ns death they got together. Jin really pulled Namjoon through it, he never left his side.
It wasn't entirely a surprise they felt that way about each other, I had talked to y/n about our suspicions, but I have the feeling she might have said something to Namjoon about it on her deathbed.
Namjoon came closer and without saying anything he pulled me closer for a hug. Namjoon and I never really hugged that much, or at all. Two times now. On y/ns funeral and today.
I bit my lower lip, again to try to get some hold on my emotions.
We finally boarded the ship that would take us to the mainland.
There was peace between our people now. Taehyung managed to talk to his father about everything that happened. How y/n died and how our group lived together.
We had divided the country into areas in which our respective species could live peacefully. I think both of our kinds were content with this. I wasn't sure if it would work out in the long term but I suppose that were worries for later.
Our two groups however were vital for this peace. We kept in touch via some device that Taehyung eventually sent to us. Today we were going to meet again for the first time since the most horrible day.
When we arrived at the mainland we were instructed to meet at some place where seat were placed in a circle for all of us. The Others were already there and they all stood up from their seat as we reached them.
They hadn't changed one bit, except Taehyung. His dark curly hair was now short and lighter. He was more buffed than he was before.
We all embraced each other, some slowly, some more tightly. Zhora hugged me very tightly, I knew why but I couldn't reciprocate it.
