5 - A Pretty Good Day

We had a walking day again, meaning that we would do some extensive walking again. It was an exceptionally hot day, luckily we had some shade from the forest but still, it wasn't the best weather to walk in all day. I preferred the winter over summer for sure.

I was walking in between the two groups of friends, in front of me was Namjoon and his group and behind me, it was Hueningkai's group.

At some point I was picking up parts of their conversation, talking about music and movies they missed listening to and watching.

    'Now I wonder what was going to happen in the final season of la casa de papel' Soobin nagged.

     'oh yes that series was so good' I enthusiastically said, turning my head to the group. They all looked at me surprised, probably because I never engaged much in their conversations. 

From that moment I was completely participating in their talk, they asked me questions about series or music that I listened to. It was pretty funny that we had been together for 78 days now, but we never really talked.

On the other hand, it wasn't that strange considering what we went through, and perhaps there was also a part of me that didn't expect us to even reach this day.

'Keep up the pace' Yoongi shouted suddenly from the front. We all exchanged a glance, clearly all thinking the same;

What was his problem?

But we did as he told us and we continued walking faster.

 At some point, I stopped walking. Huening Kai looked back at me.

    'everything okay y/n?'

     'There is a river, I can hear it!' I shouted happily. Everyone first looked at me but then they turned completely silent. Probably trying to hear it as well. Hoseok's face lit up 'I can hear it too!'

     'alright let's make our way to the river!'

As soon as we reached it all the boys took off their shirts and ran into the water.

I reached also for my shirt to lift it over my head

      'What are you doing?' Namjoon shouted as I was halfway in taking it off. I stopped my movement for a moment.

So all of you can be shirtless and I can see your naked upper bodies but I cannot take off my shirt?'

      'Just pretend it's a bikini top or something, then it's suddenly okay, right?' I added with an obvious eye roll.

      'or just don't look at me' I concluded

      'fine you have a point' Namjoon shrugged

To be honest I loved him for that. I knew as the only girl this wasn't a great position to be in, but I was stinky and sweaty and I wanted to wash this shirt as well.

With everything that was going on, the last thing I could be bothered about is them seeing me in my bra like I said it's just like a bikini. Plus it wasn't a victoria's secret "sexy" kind of thing. I was wearing the most basic black bra you could possibly find in the stores. 

After cleansing my clothes and myself in the freshwater I sat down at a rock nearby. The sun glittered on my skin. With this heat, it wouldn't take too long to get dry. but I had to admit that I did feel a little bit cold, there seemed to be more wind here and the water had been refreshing but the temperature was very low. I folded my arms over each other and pushed them against my body as some form of way to stay warm.

As we sat down Soobin decided to join me on the rock that was next to me.

     'Y/n, Namjoon told me you enjoy these cookies' he said as he handed me a part of his. I shook my head 'oh no I can't take it, we are running low on food. Thank you but it wouldn't be right'

      'Honestly, I think they are quite disgusting so you'd do me a favor. Plus Namjoon and Jin are looking for edible stuff in the woods right now. I bet they come back with something'

I shook my head again to decline but then my stomach made that typical sound and it seemed stupid to decline again so I took it from him. 

      'Thank you Soobin' I said gratefully. He smiled at me 'no problem. I know we didn't really interact before this but we are the same age so I'd like you to see us as your friends as well' he explained and he eyed his group of friends in the distance.

      'yes I was thinking about that it was odd we spent so much time together but don't really know each other'

Soobin chuckled 'yes I didn't know you had such a good taste in music and series'

I acted all hurt 'that breaks my heart' I said exaggeratedly

Soobin laughed out loud and wanted to say something but someone was faster.

     'y/n, wear this'

out of nowhere Yoongi appeared and he threw me his grey fear of god shirt.

His favorite shirt

     'oh no it's okay I think my shirts will be dry soon'

     'Just wear it, you look cold' he repeated and without any argument back I did.

Yoongi pov

We made a stop at a big house at the edge of the forest. How nice this place must have been before everything happened.

It seemed to have been abandoned for some time now but to our luck, these people had left behind a supply of instant noodles. We boiled some water and cooked the noodles in it, it was like a feast.

The entire day was pretty good actually, we found a river to clean our clothes in and now we even found some food to eat. The only thing that pissed me off was Soobin cozying up to y/n, but I couldn't really say anything about that. 

Everyone went to their room and I would take the living room. I always preferred it that way, I would be the one closest to the front door. So if someone were to enter, I'd know and I could stop them.

I sat outside for a little while,

When I went inside I saw y/n sitting on the sofa in the living room.

    'What are you doing here?' I asked her

     'I uh.. nothing' she replied uneasily shifting in her seat

it was as if she knew why she was there yet she didn't seem comfortable telling me

      'I'd better get going as it's getting late' she said while getting up

      'Can you stay?' I asked nervously, it was honestly unplanned from my side to ask her this in the first place. It played around in my mind a couple of times today but it seemed stupid to ask to I pushed that thought away. 

She looked at me surprised and a little confused as well

     'I uhm.. I was able to sleep .. that night when you were with me' I explained.

Not going to lie, telling her this felt fucking embarrassing, but it was the truth. I hadn't slept that vast since everything went down.

      'unless it makes you uncomfortable' I quickly said

She shook her head 'no that's okay. I slept better too'

We both took place on the floor, with a safe distance between us of course. Though I did feel the urge to pull her small figure closer to me so that I could shelter it through the night.
