Everly

I looked down at the ultrasound picture in my hand and smiled as I walked through the emergency room to get back to my car. Kelly wanted to be here so badly but since he took his last furlow when Shay died he couldn't take time off of work to be here with me and I completely understood.

"How are you doing momma?"

I smiled as I looked up at April as I showed her the ultrasound picture.

"I'm good. Baby's good."

"Kelly's a lucky man."

I smiled as the phone started ringing off the hook at the nurses station which made April turn around towards the charge nurse.

"We're about to get slammed. 30 or more coming."

April nodded as the firefighters started pouring into the ER doors and she rushed to triage the victims.

"Put them in 3."

"Where to?"

"This one in 7."

Kelly walked in and our eyes locked with each other so he handed off his victim before he walked over to me and laid his hands on my stomach.

"What's going on?"

"Industrial ammonia leak."

I looked around at the already full waiting room and then back up at Kelly.

"How's baby?"

I smiled as I took the ultrasound picture out of the Squad 3 sweatshirt of Kelly's and held it up.

"Peanut is doing great."

Kelly smiled.

"You look exhausted. You should get home and go to bed."

I gave Kelly a weak smile.

"Yeah I just might take you up on that one."

Kelly gave me a smile before he leaned over and planted a soft kiss on my forehead.

"Everyone, may I have your attention please? Can I have your attention?"

Kelly looked around the room where nobody was listening to April and he sighed.

"Listen up!"

I looked up at Kelly and smiled.

"All right, we are going to have a very full day here and I understand none of you feel well, but we're gonna need help from you as well as patience. If you're here because of the ammonia leak, I'm gonna need you on this side of the room when I say so. If you're here because of the flu or something non-life-threatening, I'm gonna... Sir, not yet, please. I need everyone..."

I furrowed my eyebrows as Kelly and I looked at each other as this man climbed onto a chair holding a grenade.

"If you thought Ebola was a nightmare, I am the apocalypse Death to all Americans. You're all dead in two weeks. Allahu akbar!"

I remember Kelly rushing over to April and pushing her down to the floor before he wrapped his body against mine protecting me from any flying debris.

My head hit the ground pretty hard and it was pouding, but other than that I seemed to be all in one piece.

"Otis, find the extinguishers and get on that ceiling fire. Mills, you and Brett okay?"

"All in one piece, Lieutenant."
