Everly

"Yup you're definitely pregnant."

I smiled as I looked over at the screen.

"Wow."

"Unexpected?"

I nodded as she wiped down my stomach.

"Very."

"There are other options."

I shook my head.

"Hum no, I'm going to keep it."

She nodded and smiled.

"So your about 6 to 7 weeks along."

I nodded.

"It's a little to early to hear a heartbeat and to reveal the gender, but I can give you a copy of the ultrasound."

I smiled.

"I'd like that."

"I'll be right back."

She got up and walked to the other room before coming back and handing me a ultrasound picture. I couldn't stop starring at it. I couldn't believe I was going to be a mother. I pulled my shirt down and sat up as she asked me if I had any more questions.

"Actually, I'm a paramedic. Can I keep working trough my pregnancy or no?"

The doctor took a deep breath.

"Well technically you can. I wouldn't recommend it, since it can become pretty intense, but you can. It's totally up to you."

I nodded.

"I assume you work for the fire department?"

I nodded.

"I would let your Chief know as well and he or she might have another opinion on it, but as for me I'm telling you, you can."

I nodded and smiled.

"Thank you."

"You can make your next appointment with the receptionist."

I nodded.

"Thank you Dr."

"Of course. Congratulations again."

"Thank you."

I got up and grabbed all of my things. I scheduled another appointment for a few weeks later before walking down to my car
I tucked the picture of the ultrasound in the bag for now. I really wanted to come up with a special way to tell Kelly. I mulled over my options as I drove to the firehouse. As I parked out front I thought to myself that I couldn't believe this was our last shift together. Mcleod had announced to us last shift that she was closing down the firehouse and that today would be our last shift.

When I walked up the driveway I found myself being emotional. I don't know if it was the fact that I was pregnant or that I was going to miss every single one of these people. I walked over to the locker room and took the ultrasound picture out of my bag. I looked at it again and smiled. I turned around and slid it in Kelly's locker before changing into my uniform. I know it could of been a lot cuter, but I just couldn't wait to tell him.

"Hey you left early this morning."

I looked over at Kelly and smiled.

"Yeah sorry I didn't want to wake you. I had a doctor's appointment."

"For what?"

I heard him opening up his locker so I waited.

"Ev."
