"These are the last of the bills we need to split up."

I put down a stack of bills in front of Kelly who was sitting at the Squad table. 

"Have you found a new place yet?"

I scoffed. 

"Like you actually care."

"Ev, it's not Renee's fault or mine."

I shook my head as I picked up the stack of bills of the table. 

"Tell you what, I'll handle these."

I walked off towards the ambulance and shook my head. I couldn't believe we got to this point. I walked over to Shay and smacked her ass with the bills I was holding. 

"How's the apartment hunt going?"

She turned her body to face me and leaned on the side of the ambulance. 

"Oh, you know, better than telling Kelly I didn't think Renee's due date added up."

I shook my head and chuckled. 

"Yeah. I can imagine how he took it. I just want to move on, he chose her and not me so."

Shay nodded. 

"We'll find you a hot man to take your mind off everything tommorow night. Me and you are going out."

I smiled. 

"Thanks Shay."

"That's what best friends are for."

"Truck 81, Engine 51, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, Structure fire, 14th and Kennedy."

I grunted and turned around to pull open the drivers door. I jumped inside and threw the bills on the dash before I took off towards the scene. As we pulled up I could already see Kelly shouting orders to everyone. Shay and I both got out and walked to the back of the ambulance. We pulled the jump bag and stretcher out before we both turned around to watch what was happening.

"Hey, we have a 2 and a half story fully involved. If you wanna get a line in that basement, Let's get a primary search started immediately."

Matt nodded over to the shopping cart on the front steps.

"Someone's inside. We'll vent the roof and start in the basement."

Kelly nodded. 

"We've got the main floor."

I watched as most of the guys masked up and went inside. After they disappeared from my view point I just listened trough the radio to figure out what was going on.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Do you smell.."

"Yeah. Diesel?"

"Yeah."

Not good.

"There's no one down here. It's an inferno, chief. We're heading back the way we came."

"Copy that."

"Mayday, mayday! I'm trapped in the basement. The stairs are gone. I need a charge, 1 and a 3/4 at the stairs."

Kelly was trapped in the basement and I immediately started worrying. Just because I was mad at him right now, didn't mean I didn't care about him. The guys got him out fairly quickly and I walked up to him with a bottle of water once he was back outside.
