Everly

Kelly swung his arm around me as we walked up to the firehouse. It had been a couple of days since everything happened with Renee and it was going pretty good. I had slept in his bed last night, but no sex. It was killing me, I had to admit. What was I thinking?

"Common room, ladies and gentlemen."

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked up at Kelly as we walked over to the common room.

"Who the hell was that?"

"I think she's the consultant Chief was talking about a few shifts back."

I shook my head as we walked into the common room. I sat down in the second row next to Shay and Kelly stood at the back of the room.

"This won't take long. I just want to make sure that we're all on the same page, yeah?"

Everybody nodded.

"Allowing visitors, especially children, to ride on any of the apparatus is a serious violation of CFD policy and a potential liability for the department."

I leaned over to Shay.

"How does she know that?"

"There's gotta be a snitch in the house."

I shook my head.

"You can call me a killjoy if you'd like, but the severity of this cannot be overstated. On another note, let me remind you that if anybody in this house is in a relationship with another person in this house you have to declare it to the CFD."

She looked down at me and I stood my ground and stared back at her.

"Dismissed everybody."

I got up and went to the locker room. Matt followed me and I sighed.

"What the hell was that?"

"You and Kelly, meet me in my quarters once your both ready."

I nodded. I got changed quickly and found Kelly.

"Matt wants to see us in his quarters."

He nodded and followed me. The door to Matt's quarters was open so we both walked inside and sat down on my brother's bunk. Matt got up from his desk and closed the door and the blinds before turning around and facing us.

"We've got some big problems."

"They're obviously a snitch in the house. How could she have known about Ben?"

Matt shook his head.

"How could she have known about you two?"

I shrugged.

"There's a snitch. That's all I have to say."

"There's also the arsonist issue."

I sighed as I looked over at Kelly. That's true.

"My car. Mill's restaurant last night. Good thing Mill's and his family is fine."

I shook my head.

"It doesn't make sense. Mills wasn't even on the job when Big John set those first fires."

Kelly shook his head as he looked between Matt and I.

"No. It ain't him. It's a firefighter."

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What makes you so sure?"
