Rage (noun): violent uncontrollable anger

I am released immediately after Henry attacks Roderick. The two men who were originally supposed to restrain Henry and I are trying to pull Henry off of Roderick. It takes them much too long to get him off, and when he finally stops fighting enough to be ripped off of Roderick I know it isn't because he's given up. It's because he's been wounded.

I see the blood. Roderick stabbed Henry.

Roderick stands up, brushing himself off, and I see the knife in his hand. Covered in blood. Henry's blood. I am about to throw myself at Roderick, but I am restrained again by the same man who was holding me last time.

"It's alright." He says in my ear.

"How can you say that?" I ask, trying not to cry. I don't know where the blood is coming from. It's on his pants, his arm, his chest, everywhere. I don't know where it is coming from.

"It's from his arm." The man says, and I feel him messing with the ropes on my hands behind my back. "I saw Roderick get him."

"He's going to bleed out." I say.

"No. He's not. Jesse's got him." The guy says. I look up and see that Henry has been moved, and the man who was looking at Violet, Jesse, is helping Henry. I let out a breathe I hadn't realized I'd been holding.

"Kill her, now." Roderick says.

"Of course." My captor says. He raises the knife to my throat. "You're free." He murmurs into my ear. "I'm going to release you, shoving you toward Violet. Follow her. We'll take care of Roderick."

"And Henry?" I ask.

"He'll be with you." He says. And then I am shoved forward, right into Violet and the baby, Nero.

Violet grabs my arm and runs with me toward a room, "It'll be okay. We have this all under control. I'm sorry that Henry got hurt." She opens the door and shoves me in. She locks the door.

"I tried to tell him not to do anything stupid." I say to her.

"Stupid? You wound me Madelyn." I hear Henry's voice from behind me and I turn and see Henry sitting against the wall. He looks worn out.

I run toward him, and I drop myself in his lap. There is no way that I could be close enough to him in this moment. "Are you alright?" I ask.

"Other than the fact that I was stabbed? I'm doing quite well." Henry says and I give him a look. "Who would have known that Roderick's own crew hated him?"

"You should have listened to me." I say.

"I'm sorry that I became a little blinded by rage when I thought I was about to watch you get murdered." Henry says. I sigh, and rest my head on his chest. He's covered in blood but I don't care. I thought he was about to die.

"What's going on out there?" I ask Violet.

She's cradling the baby in her arms. "Roderick is being taken care of." She says, and she sounds sad, like this is not something she wanted, but something that had to be done.

"Is that really my son?" Henry asks.

Violet smiles down at the baby, "Biologically, yes."

"Jesse's going to be his father." Henry says. Violet looks up, surprised.

"How could you tell?" She asks.

"I saw the look he gave you." Henry says. "I'm sorry that this all happened."
