"Think I like you best when you're just with me
And no one else"
------------
"I'm actually going to kill him."
Sirius was snarling as they four walked back to the school. He lit a cigarette and brought it to his lips, fuming as he carried on muttering incoherent words. James and Remus shared a look before going to each of Sirius' side, Peter going next to James struggling to keep up with Sirius' fast pace.
"We know Padfoot. It's a new record though, any other year by now we normally would have had like five different fights with him." Peter says, trying to sound cheerful whilst he stumbled alongside them. Sirius didn't answer, exhaling the smoke with a dark expression.
"Next time we see him we hex him, yea?" James says, slinging an arm around his best friend's neck. Sirius seemed to relax at that, giving a little smirk in answer as he passed the cigarette to James, who accepted it gladly.
"Sure, it'll be worth the detention." Remus shrugs, stuffing his hands in his pockets from the cold. The three gave him an incredulous look, not quite sure they heard him correctly. Remus just shrugs again, a small grin on his face.
"What? Snape said some absolutely nasty shit, I'm not gonna stop you guys." Sirius then laughed, giving a hum in agreement, his dark mood finally disappearing. James shared a relieved look with Remus, finally entering the warm castle. The four separated, Peter and Sirius going back to the common room to play exploding snap, and Remus decided to go to the library, to which James agreed to come with.
"Don't you need to get your books?" Sirius questioned, halfway up the stairs as he looked back on Remus and James.
"There is a thing called magic, Pads. Forget?" James quipped, wagging his eyebrows. Sirius only replies with a middle finger before disappearing around a corner with Peter. The two talk to the library, smiling at different people as they come across them. Close to the library, they see a small group huddled in the middle of the corridor. As James gets closer, he sees what the commotion is all about.
Two boys are fighting, now on the ground as they threw blind punches around.
"Huh, someone should really stop this." James mumbles as he cranes his neck over the circle of people. Remus then shoves him, making him nearly bump into a Hufflepuff girl in front of him.
"What? Why me?"
"You're literally head boy James."
"Oh. Yea I am." James pushes his way through the people in front of him, pulling out his wand and saying a spell to pull the fighting boys apart.
"Five points from," James looked at the boys ties, "Ravenclaw each. Go to Flitwick now, and if I hear you didn't I'll take off another ten points." He says to the boys who were now cowering in front of him, trying to be as stern as possible. It seemed to work, as they boys nodded continuously, and with a hateful look to the other, scrambled to the direction of Professor Flitwick's office. The show being over, the circle of people seemed to disperse, all with an admiring look towards James.
"You handled that a lot better than I thought you would." Remus commented as he walked over to James, grin on his face. James just smirked, carrying on walking towards the library.
"I just channelled my inner Minnie, Moony. Works every time."

The library was bustling, filled with people on the weekend doing their work, or simply reading. Towering bookcases surrounded James and Remus as they attempted to find an empty table, with books becoming more worn and old as they moved further into the library. They finally found a small table, in a quiet almost unused section, away from most people. Remus waved his wand, and an array of both his and James' books appeared in front of the two. He raised his eyebrow at James when he immediately opened up his defence against the dark arts book and started studying, but didn't say anything as he started with his own essay.
