𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐃𝐋𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐀𝐒, Deena was forced to spend her leisure time figuring out her witch nature. Practicing spells Davina once taught before, and freely expressing her magic until something came about.

And for the most part, it's going.

Her father left early last week with Aunt Bekah to deal with another problem on hand, leaving Deena in the care of Hayley and her uncle who spent the majority of his time in the barnyard chopping wood. Hayley was either with Elijah, hanging with Deena, or to herself, which offered her more than enough time to practice.

Sat on the sunny yellow picnic blanket surrounded by a large, open field of nothing, Deena crossed her legs for better alignment. She rest her palms along her knees and closed her eyes. Inhaled deeply, sensing the force of magic within nature. Through her hair. Along her skin. Within her blood. And it felt amazing. Like nothing ever felt before.

Opening her eyes, the Champagne Toast scented candle stood before her. "Incendia." A surge of happiness spiked when the candle lit. But so did the edge of the blanket. And the grass. A line of fire burning anything in its path. "Ah, putain." Deena acted quickly, jumping to her feet, and with a wave of her hand, wind washes away the fire.

That was a close call.

But she wasn't the only one who caught it. Hayley who went out for a walk and decided to find Deena, witnessed the incident at hand. "Thank god you decided to practice outside and not inside the house; you would've burned the place down just as I made myself comfortable in the Mikaelson's notorious wine cellar." She teased, coming closer into view. "Not bad though, if your intention was to burn the blanket plus mother nature too."

Deena rolled her eyes as she sat on her knees. She wasn't worried about flashing anything since she wore shorts underneath her short summer dress, and found comfort in the position. "It's progress, but it'll be a lot easier with a qualified witch. The one I had was trying — is trying — to kill my papa if she isn't already dead. Or something."
