𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐃𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐏𝐄, leaning on his brother's shoulder for aid with weight he could not support on his own. The sun hits his face, pale skin warming to its heat, causing him to squint momentarily as he stepped into the wilderness after what felt like an eternity.
A deep breath filled his lungs with fresh air, which he never thought to miss so much. He peered around and noticed how much the world had changed since he last stepped out. Fallen leaves had turned a beautiful shade of orange and the air had a hint of winter chill to it. He could smile, basket the earth's beauty, grateful to be alive.
And he would...if Marcel wasn't right behind them.
Rebekah stood when footsteps approached and rushed into her brother's weak arms, happy to see him after all these years. "Nik!" She embraced him with great strength. Kol greeted with a nod. Suddenly too cool for affection.
A warm feeling coursed his system. To know that each of his siblings stood before him, healthy and cured of their torments. It made his solitude all so worth it when in the end, they came back for him. They always did.
Freya touched Rebekah's shoulder. "Hey, you can hug him later. We need to leave and get the hell out of this city, and contaminated water ruining my vintage heels." She cursed under her breath and complained about needing a shower.
Hayley ran out afterward with Vanessa, peering frantically into darkness. She caught a whiff of Marcel's scent. "Marcel's right behind us, go. Go!"
Vanessa extended her help, disputing Klaus's weight to help carry him to the car. They hadn't had a moment to officially reunite since everything happened so quickly and panic rose as slow as it fell, but knew they were both happy to see each other. Exchanged looks and gentle handling said enough.
And also knew there were many questions Klaus grew desperate to ask, many of them pertaining to his daughter's whereabouts. Deena was a spiteful young woman much like her father, who must be involved one way or another. Her presence was nowhere near when trying to sense her.
