Chapter Eighteen

The wood floor of your room was covered with different papers. Your notepad was covered with sloppy notes. You had everything from Violet's dental records to Viper's family's medical history. You needed to know everything about them so you could plan ahead.

You scribble down another note before hearing your door open. You look up and Bakugou is standing at the door holding a bag.

"Have you ever heard of knocking?"

His scowl deepens, "you've been in here all fucking day." He looks at your paper-covered floor and raises an eyebrow "I didn't need you complaining that you're hungry later so I brought you some food." He takes a seat on your floor, careful not to step on any of the papers.

"Thanks," you mumble as you take the bag. You open it and find a takeout box. "So why did you really bring me this?"

"The fuck is that supposed to mean?"

"You don't like me very much and you don't do random things like this out of the blue, everything you do has a purpose." You open the take-out box and find its yakisoba. "So what brings you here?"

Bakugou looks down "fine, you...uh ok?" he looks back up at you "You kind of panicked the other day."

Your head snapped up, your mouth full of food. To Bakugou you looked like a shocked chipmunk.

You swallowed your food before looking at your hands. "Ya, that um happens sometimes."

"Why?"

You look back up at him. You contemplate for a moment but then decide that Bakugou was trustworthy enough to talk to as he didn't seem like the kind of person to gossip.

"I suffer from a panic disorder that derives from PTSD." By the look he gives you, you can tell that it wasn't the answer he was expecting. "All the agents suffer from some kind of mental disorder, it comes with the job."

You take a pause before continuing to speak "PTSD is the most common disorder found in Agents and pro heroes."

"But you're a kid."

You smile softly, he still has so much to realize. "Well, when you're an agent and you watch people die in front of you, it really doesn't matter the age." Your words caused Bakugou to look at you.

"The reason I came to UA was to get a fresh start after an accident that happened in the states a year ago." You took a breath, "You met my team, but before we transferred here we had three more members."

You walk up to your desk and grab a photo. You sit down next to Bakugou and gently place the photo in his hands. You point to three people "This was taken four days before the mission, this is Sye" you point to a taller boy with dark skin and neon green hair. "He was funny, he was one of our hackers along with Specks, they were very close." You point to a short girl, she had long blonde hair and looked short compared to Al, and Al was shorter than Midoriya, "This is Besa, she was one of the best swimmers I have ever seen, and last was Nozomi she was the oldest." You pointed to a tall girl who was pale but had the darkest hair Bakugou had ever seen "She was Maxwell's older sister, she was two years older than me, Maxwell will be turning her age in a few months."

Bakugou inspected the picture. It was taken only a year ago but he could tell that you had changed a lot since then. You had seen more carefree and happy back then. "What happened?" he asked, meeting your eyes.

"We had a mission to destroy the last base of a network of child traffickers, and we had 5 minutes before explosives went off, I was given an order by our superior to have our team grab a file from the third floor of the building even though I knew we didn't have enough time. I gave the order and the three of them went off to get the item. While they were getting the item Al was working hard to get us out of the building." You took a shaky breath "I told the three of them to fall back too late and-." You went silent. Hot tears rolled down your face. When did you start crying?

"I should have never given the order and the three of them paid for my mistake with their lives."

Bakugou looked at you, he would never say it so loud but you looked so fragile. "You said someone gave you the order right?" you nodded, wiping your tears. "Then you were just following orders, it's not your fault."

"That's what everyone keeps telling me but I still feel responsible." Bakugou handed you back the picture and you put it back on your desk. "I came to UA to heal and start a new chapter in my life, and I'm glad I did."

"So what're all these files for?" The blonde asked as an attempt to change the subject to something a little better, looking at the random documents you had strewn all over your floor.

"Information on Viper and Violet." And before you could begin to explain further your phone began ringing. You pick it up and put it on speaker.

"It was Specks"

"Karma here."

"Boss, I have some big news that you need to hear." You lock eyes with Bakugou.

"Well spit it out."

"So we know Viper was kidnapped by Violet but the mission we went on with the twins was entirely a distraction. Turns out the twins were never in harm's way, the entire point of the mission was to distract us from Violet."

"Specks we took people out on this mission, who did we kill?" Bakugou looked shocked by your question. He didn't realize that you took people out and that question was going to lead to more questions.

"Apparently they were people who worked for Violet who double-crossed him and gave information to another villain party, but they didn't know he found out about it."

"How did you find all this out?"

"I took all the information we found and did some digging on some of the names you guys gave me. El also was able to snatch an info chip from someone that night we did the stakeout."

"Well, I hope we can find more leads."

"I will hopefully be able to get a mission brought up soon if I can get more information and we can cut the head off the snake."

"Good."

"Now I have to go, curfew." That damn curfew was starting to get more annoying than it already was. 

"Ok, update me on any more information."

"Will do boss, goodnight."

"Night Specks."

You hung up the phone and let out a few curses in English.

"So basically we're gonna get to fuck up this Violet guy soon?" 

You let out a chuckle "Yes Bakugou if everything falls into place soon we should be able to kick Violet in the ass."

The blonde smiled, "Good, now eat your damn food before it gets cold." 

You laughed "Ok."
