Chapter Twenty-six

It had been about a week since UA let go of the lockdown policy. You were out of snacks but since the last time you went to the convenience store alone didn't end well you decided to ask if Bakugou wanted to go with you.

Much to your surprise, he agreed pretty quickly. The idea of spending time with him made you feel warm and giddy.

And you hated it. It was getting harder to focus in class and it was starting to annoy you. But you were not going to let these confusing feelings of FRIENDSHIP get in the way of your everyday life.

So you did the normal thing and compressed it down inside of you.

The two of you began walking down the sidewalk. You talked about light subjects like school and the upcoming test.

You were pleased to hear that Bakugou's English grade had risen due to your weekly tutoring sessions. What started off as just you and bakugou soon turned into Midoriya, Uraraka, Todoroki, Mina, Kirishima, Denki, and Sero joining in as well.

You didn't mind the big group of people and you were really happy when you saw their improvement in your native language. Bakugou has also been helping you with your Japanese because with a large number of languages you know it sometimes gets confusing.

He of course saw it as an equal trade and would stay after the tutoring sessions to give you lessons in his first language.

You also began sitting at the table with what your class called the Bakusquad. Bakugou said he hated the name but it was clear to see that he cared for all of his friends. You really enjoyed not eating alone anymore. The group was really something else but all their personalities seemed to balance out in a chaotic way.

It took a little time before you reached the convenience store. You walked around and picked up a large number of snacks. Bakugou did the same, most of which fell in the spicy category. You paid attention to the things he got and made a mental note just in case you came back here without him.

Because you were his friend.

You both put your snacks on the table. "I'm paying this time." He said, grabbing his wallet. He had been careful not to get close enough to you to where you had the opportunity to take it off of him again. "What the fuck, did you take my card?"

You looked at him with confusion "No, why would I do that?"

"You fucking took my card."

"I didn't have the opportunity to touch your wallet, let alone take out your card and put the wallet back in your pocket." You explained. You quickly pulled out your wallet and paid for the food. Bakugou glared at you through the entire payment process.

"I can't believe I forgot my fucking card."

You smiled smugly "You didn't."

Bakugou looked at you. "I fucking knew you took my card, give it back."

"I don't have it." You smile even more.

"The hell you mean you don't have it?" He took out his wallet again to make sure you didn't put it back.

"I took it out of your wallet right before we left your room, it's sitting on your desk."

"Why you little shit." Bakugou started running at you.

"Fuck" You began to run. But your normal speed was no match for him.

You were soon caught, which made you break out in a fit of laughter. Bakugou laughed along with you and the sound made your heart flutter. Because who doesn't love the sound of their friend laughing. He let you go but the two of you still held eye contact.

You were starting to think these were not feelings of friendship.

Of course, no good moment lasts forever. Because intrusive thoughts love to torture you.

Sadness pulls at your heart when you remember that he almost died. The fear that went through your body when you thought you weren't going to make it to him. The thought of him not being here today, it hurt.

"Hey dumbass, you good?"

You broke out of your thoughts "Oh..ah ya, sorry just intrusive thoughts."

"Talk to me."

"No, it's fine really" You pick up your bags.

"Don't be stubborn."

You sighed, "When you um, almost died during my rescue I was so scared that I wouldn't get to you in time. It was my fault you were put in harm's way." Tears stung at the sides of your eyes. But you quickly blinked them away. This was no time for tears.

"No, it wasn't."

"Yes, it was."

"I chose to come and get you, it was my fucking choice."

"Why the hell would you do that?"

"Because I was worried damn it, not doing anything didn't sit right with me."

You stared at him in shock. "You were worried about me, why?"

Bakugou was silent. You could tell he was thinking about telling you something. He proceeds to mumble something under his breath.

"What was that, I didn't hear you."

"I fucking said it's because I fucking care about your stupid Idiotic ass."

"So you put yourself in harm's way because you care? That's so dumb you could have died."

"I did it because I like you dammit, I couldn't just sit back because I don't know if you were ok and I know what it's like to be kidnapped and I hated that you had to go through with that." He yelled.

"You like me?"

"Yes dammit."

You weren't expecting that. Your heart picked up speed. Butterflies danced in your stomach. It was finally time to stop being in denial. "Oh, um, well that's good." you squeaked out.

"How the hell is that good?"

"Well...um... it's because I havefeelingsforyoutoo." You admit quickly. Your voice was close to a squeak and it took everything in you not to turn invisible at this exact moment.

"Huh?"

A shaky breath left your lips, "I have feelings for you too."

"Oh."

"Ya." This was very awkward.

Bakugou looked down at his shoes. His face was a beaming shade of red. "Would you be interested in doing some shit this weekend?"

"Like a date?"

"No like a mission, of course like a date dumbass."

"Oh, um ya that sounds good." If you could see your face you were pretty sure it was competing with the red of Kirishima's hair. You were not one to express emotions like this easily. "Let's finish walking back to the UA."

Even though he was blushing, Bakugou still had a smirk plain as day on his face. It wasn't often he got to see you flustered so you bet he was going to enjoy every minute of it.
