Betty was screaming inside.

She was in class next to Chara. She moved her seat next to his desk to talk with him, they had free time. After Betty had cracked a joke, Chara let out the most adorable laugh she had heard in her whole life.

"Was that you, Chara?" The teacher asked.

"Uh, yeah?" He replied uncertainly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Never mind." She said sincerely, heading somewhere else to supervise the rest of the class.

"Chara, that was..." Betty trailed off. Chara gulped, afraid of what she'd say. "That was fricking adorable!"

"Wha-" Chara started blushing. "I-I'm not cute."

"I never said you were cute, I said you were adorable." Betty stated matter of factly.

"I'm not adorable either!"

Betty huffed playfully and stuck her chin in the air while crossing her arms. "I'm sorry, I refuse to believe anything that isn't true."

"I'm still not cute..."

"Really, Chara? Even the teacher was surprised."

"You don't know if that reaction was positive though."

"Chara, no-"

"Chara, yes." He grinned at her.

"Chara, seriously, be nicer to yourself."

"What? I'm practically useless." He smiled sadly.

"You do all you can." Betty placed a hand on his shoulder.

Chara looked down at her hand and slightly blushed. He put his own on top of hers and spoke up again. "Thanks."

"Anytime." She looked away with a pink hue on her cheeks. She just noticed how soft Chara's hands were.

Someone caught Chara's eye. Jacob. He smirked at him and pushed his cheek against his hand. Jacob threw a glare. Chara decided to ignore him and talk to Betty. He slowly let go of Betty's hand, afraid anyone else would see. Betty seemed to think the same thing.

"Cross took me stargazing. It was awesome."

"Stargazing? How?"

"Apparently, there's a flat area on our roof and some beanbags lying around in the house. We even had Wendy's." Chara chuckled a little at the last part.

Betty's face softened. "Cross is a really good brother."

"He really is. I don't think a lot of people say that about their siblings." Chara laughed that sweet laugh that Betty found adorable.

"So, do you want to hang out sometime? Maybe go to an amusement park?"

"Sure! Oh, Cross would come along, though, and he might bring his boyfriend." He grinned.

"That's alright. We can just outrun those lovers or go on a ride alone. Cross might worry, but Nightmare could sweet talk him into staying. Maybe something like, 'Hey they'll be alright,' he cups Cross' cheek, 'I want to have some time with you anyways.'"

Chara and Betty giggled.

"Alright, class. Free time's over, back to your seats." Betty said bye and went to her seat. Chara faced the teacher as she started teaching.

...

"Hey." Chara looked over his shoulder at Betty heading towards him. He turned around. They both were waiting for the teacher of their next class to show up. Everyone decided it was another break.
