Dream opened his brother's door slowly. After checking Chara's room and finding it empty, he went there. He couldn't tell if it was Chara or Cross because of the blanket, but he could tell that both were there. With his brother too. He sighed in relief.
...
"Good morning." Cross waved to his co-worker Dave.
"Morning." Dave didn't look up from the pencil he was sharpening.
"Morning, Cross." Shelly didn't look away from the mirror. Leah was watching her, she waved as well. Cross put on his apron and took his notepad. He walked out of the room to ready the shop for customers.
Frequent customers were there. He walked towards a booth. "Hello, Mrs. Garcia. Would you like the usual?"
"Yes, please." The woman nodded. She also didn't look up from what she was reading, which was a newspaper.
"Could I have your menu, please?" She picked it up and passed it to Cross, still reading. He went to the back to prepare her order.
"Hey, Cross?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you pass a paper towel?" Shelly didn't make eye contact with Cross. She was eyeing a water spill.
"Here." Cross placed one in her hand.
"Thanks." She began to clean it.
Cross finished the order. He gave it to the customer. "Hope you enjoy your meal, come back soon." Cross walked away.
"Cross, can you serve the man at table sixteen?" Dave was filling up a cup of soda.
"Oh, sure thing." Cross walked towards the customer and asked for his order. He brought it to said customer a few minutes later.
"Thanks, Cross." Dave thanked him.
"Anytime." Cross shrugged. He was surprised that no one yet noticed he was talking.
...
Leah sighed and sat in an empty seat. Breakfast rush was over. Cross sat beside her, he was tired too. "Hey."
"Hey, Cross."
The bell chimed, someone entered the shop. "I'll take it." Cross got up and left.
It was Nightmare. "Hello, love."
"Oh, Nightmare." Cross gave him a hug.
"'Love?!'" Dave repeated in the background. "You are dating him?"
"Pff, duh." Nightmare grinned. "Cross, you didn't tell them?"
Cross shrugged. "They never asked."
"Of course not." He looked at Dave, who flinched and turned away.
"Nightmare, don't scare them."
"Sorry, Crossy."
"It's fine. What do you want to eat?"
"I'll take the usual."
"Sure." Cross walked to the kitchen as Nightmare took his seat.
"Why am I surprised that you two are dating?" Nightmare just ignored Dave, rolling his eyes.
Cross came back quickly. He slid the plate on the table. "Night, be nice or you're sleeping on the couch."
"Right, right." He sighed. "Can I have a kiss?" Dave left.
Cross sighed. "Fine." He kissed Nightmare quickly.
Some desperate jerk in the background spoke up. "Whoa, they sell that?" Cross ignored him. Nightmare, however, did not.
