Seonghwa woke up when a pair of hands shook him hard. He groaned and sat up, when he gained full consciousness, he saw who was shaking him, it was Mingi. He recalled everything that happened yesterday night, nothing seemed real, none of it, he thought of everything as dream from which he was soon going to wake up.
"Get up! I am not going to wake you up everyday!" a shouting Mingi pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Uh..yeah, sorry." Seonghwa muttered.
"Here, today's schedule." Mingi handed him a sheet of paper.
Seonghwa took it, it read:Schedule Today
7:30 to 8:00 : breakfast
8:10 to 9:30 : spells (with earth)
9:40 to 11:00 : history of realms (with air)
11:10 to 12:30 : telekinesis (only water)
12:30 to 2:00 : lunch period
2:00 to 3:00 : magical animals and their care (with earth)
3:00 to 5:30 : free period
5:30 to 7:00 : blade art (with fire)"What does this 'with earth', 'with air' mean?" Seonghwa asked.
"Means we're gonna study with kids from those houses." Mingi explained.
"Oh." Seonghwa looked at the wall clock, it was six in the morning. He looked at Mingi, he looked taller without any reason, as if he had grown overnight. He was ready for the day, in his blue robes, his hair were styled neatly, the platinum crown gleamed, and his golden rimmed glasses rested on his nose.
"You should start getting ready." Mingi said.
"Yeah."
Seonghwa rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He stood up and made his way to the restrooms he knew from yesterday. He took a shower, questioned a lot of things, how the piping system worked here in the middle of the woods, how was the water disposed, and after all, what the fuck was this world. He didn't take a shower for half an hour, as he usually did. He didn't want to be late. He had read the schedule, what was the first class? Spells. Interesting. He realised he only shared one class with Wooyoung today. Maybe they could sit together at lunch? He made a mental note to ask about it later. Seonghwa dressed in robes, he looked at himself in the mirror. The robes did sure make him look more elegant. In the sunlight, he noticed how the golden embroidery shined. He did his hair like he usually did at home, and then put on his crown. He took a deep breath, and got out of the restrooms. When he went back to the dorms, he found Mingi sitting on his bed, reading a book. Mingi looked up at Seonghwa when he saw him enter.
"You take so long bathing." he said.
"Um, sorry." Seonghwa thought he had hurried, but he was probably caught up in his thoughts.
"Listen, I am going to guide you only today, from tomorrow, you're on your own." Mingi said.
"Uhm, okay." Seonghwa said, realising that Mingi was only being nice to him because Yeosang had told him to, he had noticed how Mingi wasn't willing to help even yesterday. Seonghwa looked at the poster above Mingi's bed, 'Go Away.' he read once again. Seonghwa wondered if Mingi just hated humans in general.
"Um can you tell me what textbook for what class, like-" Seonghwa was speaking.
"Uh yes, give me the schedule, I'll write it for you."
Mingi scribbled on the sheet for a few seconds, and gave it back to Seonghwa.
He had written 'Charms of magic' beside the spells class, 'Four great realms' beside history of realms. And so on.
"And hey, can we sit with our friends from other houses during lunch?" Seonghwa asked.
"Yeah, can sit anywhere."
"And what do we do in this 'free periods'?"
"I don't know, whatever you want, maybe do some homework, go to the library or hang out in the common room."
"Common room?"
"Oh yes, forgot about it! There's a common room for each house, you can do your homework there, or practice spells or something. Wait, let me show you, come."
Mingi walked out of the dorms, turned right, and opened a wooden door. It revealed a huge room, with couches and desks. A fire was crackling in the fireplace. There were big windows, the blue curtains were pulled apart, letting all the sunlight in. There was a small marble fountain in the middle of the room, some green plants were climbing around it. Some students were already there, sitting on couch, chatting among themselves. Two girls were looking for a specific book in the bookshelf. The whole room was in shades of blue. Seonghwa liked how almost everything represented water. This made him wonder how it was with Wooyoung, in the Air house, was everything white and grey there?
"Woah." Seonghwa gasped.
"Yeah, you can spend your free time here if you want. The thing is your friend can't come here, it's only for Water people. If you wanna hang out with him, you have to go to the common library." Mingi said.
Seonghwa nodded.
He looked at the wall clock, it was seven, breakfast started at seven thirty.
"Yeah, we have time, look around if you want." Mingi said, as if reading his thoughts.
