That night, Peter and I were camped out in a tower. I looked down at the crowd of people and sighed. 

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the water in the fountain steaming. The ground started to rumble, and what looked like lava covered the statue. Everyone started screaming. I looked over at Peter. 

"You ready?" He nodded. The lava burst and turned into a giant fire monster. Peter put a hand to his ear. 

"Okay, he's here. Beck, you know what to do." I could hear Beck's voice on the other hand. He flew toward the monster and landed on the ground. 

"You're up, kid." Peter swung at the monster, and I jumped to the ground. I noticed the fire hydrant, and extended my hand. With a flick of my wrist, the lid to the fire hydrant came off and water sprouted out. The air quickly became smoky as the water clashed with the fire monster. 

The fire monster punched the wall that Peter was holding on to, and he did a flip off of the wall to avoid getting hit. He landed on a carousel, which he immediately got thrown off of. 

"No, Beck! He's got the carousel. He's getting bigger." I noticed two figures above Peter on the Ferris wheel. I knew I had to get them off. I flew over, but as I got closer, I recognized them. Betty and Ned had snuck out of the opera and were now stuck on the Ferris wheel. I flew up so that I was eye level with them. 

"You guys okay?" Betty shook her head, obviously freaking out. 

"No! We're stuck." I nodded. 

"Okay. I'm gonna get you out of here." I went to reach out for them, but I got thrown to the side by the fire monster. I hit the wall of a building and went down. That definitely cracked a rib. I stood up to see Beck and Peter under a green dome. The fire monster was hitting it, trying to break it. 

All of a sudden, the dome went down, and Beck flew to the left. The fire monster started charging at Peter, and he ran right. Peter then swung in the air and threw a rock at it. The monster stepped back, damaged. Beck came in, firing green smoke at the monster. This method worked a few more times, until the monster punched the ground. This sent a crack in the ground to the Ferris wheel, which tilted it. The monster looked up at it. It charged for the wheel, but Beck flew in front of it and blocked the monster. 

With the monster distracted, I could grab Ned and Betty. I grabbed Betty first and flew her out of harm's way. Then I went back and got Ned. Once the two were on the ground, I went back to the fight. 

The monster was huge, and Beck looked at me and Peter. 

"Whatever happens..." His helmet disappeared. "I'm glad we met." Peter shook his head. 

"Beck, what are you doing?" Beck looked back at the monster.

"What I should have done last time." He started absorbing green light. He then charged at the monster, destroying it. Peter and I looked at each other, then ran over to Beck, who was now laying on the ground. 

"Mr. Beck?" Peter asked, and Beck opened his eyes. I let out a sigh. "Oh, thank god." He helped Beck up. Fury immediately came over, Hill staying by the car.

"So, it's over?" She asked, and Beck nodded. 

"That was the last of them." Fury stood over Beck, who was sitting down. 

"But not the last threat we'll ever face. We need to stay vigilant. There's a void in this world for someone like you. Hill and I are going to Europe headquarters in Berlin tomorrow. You should join us." Beck stood up and shook Fury's hand.

"Thank you. I just might take you up on that." Fury looked back at Peter. 

"You got gifts Parker, but you didn't want to be here." Peter nodded.

"Mr. Fury, I-" Fury sighed. 

"I'd love to have you in Berlin too. But you got to decide whether you're going to step up or not. Stark chose you. He made you an Avenger. I need that. The world needs that. Maybe Stark was wrong. Was he? The choice is yours." I glared at Fury as he walked away. Beck walked over to us.

"Let's go get a drink." He headed toward the bar, and I followed. Peter hesitated. 

"But we're not 21."
