Aelin had agreed to the plan with no complaints. It was not complex or difficult in any way. Of course, there was the part where she had to be used like a rag doll but who cares? Apparently, she was taking one for the team. As soon as they arrived in the city she hated it instantly. There was a distinctive smell of evil in the air- or perhaps that was just her. What she had also noticed was the tense atmosphere she felt as Rhysand's court entered the palace. Having found out not too long ago about Velaris being a secret city, she now understood why it was kept hidden; for fear if discovered it would turn out like a sorrowful city. Mor had ushered her into a room and quickly explained that two maids would be sent in to help her.
Aelin barely had any time to scrutinize the place before two females wordlessly entered. They were holding a long piece of cloth and a wooden box. She noticed instantly that the identical females were not friendly, not utterly a word, simply nodding yes or no to her endless supply of questions. Well then.
Completely unbothered, Aelin donned the clothes and took a double-take when her coldness spread across her body. She raised an eyebrow when she looked at her reflection; it was perhaps the most scandalous outfit she had ever had the pleasure of wearing- and she had worn a lot of them. The only things the tunic hid were her nipples and the apex where her legs met. She smirked as she turned around, observing her unclothed back; had she always been so beautiful? Of course, she knew the answer was 'yes' but really, it was so unfair; the Gods had truly gifted her with such fabulousness.
She was a little butt hurt that the maids did not exclaim their admiration for her but it was quickly forgotten when they drowned her in jewels. Her shimmering black crown matched her dress perfectly and appeared to have been made by the night sky. Everything was wonderful... except for the choker that she had just clipped on; a long chain dangled from it before joining the jewels on her hips and legs. The appearance of a chain and a leash was not lost on her. Aelin would have been absolutely annoyed if she didn't look so beautiful. They quickly finished the last touches and almost too soon she was out the door. Mor was waiting patiently by her room and was wearing a similar outfit, red and a little less scandalous but just as gorgeous. As they quickly walked through the hall, Mor told her exactly what to do and where to stand. Before long Mor entered the throne room leaving Aelin by herself. Almost nervously Aelin waited for her cue to follow and prayed that their act would work.
