Hello everyone. I realize that for the past few weeks I have been a little late for my chapter updates. I'm trying not to make it a habit, I promise.

By the way I am still accepting submission for art covers for both my stories. I have yet to change my cover because I haven't found just the right one. If you are interested, send me a private message.

As always, enjoy and happy reading.

"Well, aren't you ferocious. It's cute, really."

Gods, how she wished that she had burned him hard enough to kill him. True be told, she did not know exactly what Eris' deal with Rhysand consisted of. It had to be something somewhat sinister but she did not know more than that. However, when one was as brilliantly adaptable to circumstances and a fantastic actress, one could get away with threats quite easily. Her threat, though, seemed to have riled up the male.

"I am cute, and even more so when I kill." She was done with this game, and even more done with him. "So, take this opportunity to pick up your balls and scurry away."

"Threatening my manhood? How vulgar of you."

"That was hardly a threat, darling." Aelin gave him a winning smile as she served him poison on a golden platter. "Now fuck off before I decide you're worth more dead than alive."

"I doubt Rhysand would be very happy if anything should happen to me."

"I do not particularly care if Rhysand is happy or not. And as opposed to your belief, you are expendable."

"I'd wager that your little High Lord would disagree."

"Don't flatter yourself. You're more than a nuisance than anything else. He should have let me kill you lot and save us all the headache."

Shock overtook him and after a short pause, the male threw back his head and roared with laughter. "Your confidence in yourself is certainly commendable, but I'm afraid it is far too generous."

"It would take less than half a thought to smite you where you stand. The powers I have allowed you the honor of seeing is but a quarter of my capabilities. So, unless you want to know exactly what it feels like to be burnt alive, do not test me."

The male grinned as he slapped his knee as he got up and started walking away. "Your threats are riveting, I'll give you that."

"It is not a threat, it is a promise."

Eris looked back at her when he got to the door. "How different you are from the crying little bastard you pretended to be."

"And yet you're the same blabbering idiot you present yourself to be."

He smiled as he closed the door behind, and Aelin felt the soundproof barrier that he had put up melt away.

The assassin returned to her vanity, picked up her brush and smiled at her reflection. "Let the games begin."
