The sky was blue with a couple of white, fluffy clouds places in it. You closed the door behind you while Markl greeted a man on the street. You both walked down to the shore where the market was located. There were many small boats, that belonged to the people living in the city, ankered up by the harbor. There were several people at the market today. Some of the men took care of their boats by polishing them while, mostly women, were shopping for fruits, vegatbles, meat and other goods at the market.

"What would you like for dinner Michael?" you asked. "Beef, i don't like fish." he answered in a grumpy, old man's voice. "Alright." you replied and walked over to a stand that had various types meats displayed at a table with ice cubes under them. "Those two please." you said as you pointed to two red steaks and the man at the stand picked them up at wrapped them in paper. He handed them to you and Michael gave the man some silver coins in return. "Thank you!" you said before walking away to another stand that sold vegetables.

You were in the middle of picking out some potatoes and carrots when you heard a bell from a ship ringing in the distance. You and Markl turned around to see what was happening. Further away there was a ship that seemed to be sinking. "The ship is sinking!" you heard someone yell in the distance. The ship was on fire on one side and the other half was already under water. Black smoke rose from the fire on the boat. There were many men that jumped down from the boat and into the water. People started gathering at the edge of the harbor to get a closer look at what was happening. "Sorry, come back later!" the man behind the vegetable stand said as he rushed over to the harbour to watch. Markl took off his hood, removing the disguise.

You looked around at the crowd and froze when you saw an abnormally tall man with a large, slimy nose. You froze, it was those creature-men-things again. "Markl." you said while you grabbed the basket with meat and vegetable. "Yes?" he answered. "We need to get back." you said and put some coins on the vegetable-stand. You grabbed his hand and started walking. "Why?" he asked, but just then, a three bombs landed in the water and made three huge splashed. A man who was standing on top some boxed pointed in the sky and yelled; "It's the enemies ship!" You looked up and saw a silver airship flying above you all.

The blob man had disappeared into the crowd, but you still felt the need to go back to Howl's castle. The market had become chaotic and you started going up the way to Howl's castle with Markl in your hand. Just then Markl exclaimed; "Y/n look!" He pointed to the sky and you stopped to look. The airship hand released hundreds of paper flyers that made their way down to the ground. In all this haze, your hair had gotten pushed to the side and Markl noticed the feathers on your neck. "What is that on your neck Y/n?" he asked curiously. "I'll tell you when we get back." you said and put your hair back to cover the feathers up again.

As you quickly walked back up to the castle there were many guards and policemen yelling; "Don't read the flyers, they are enemy propaganda!" You finally reached the door and went inside while breathing heavily. You put the basket down on a counter that was close to the door before you poured yourself and Markl a glass of water and sat down in a chair by the table. Calcifer looked at you from the fireplace. "Are you guys ok?" he asked. "Dont worry Calcifer," you said "it's alright."

You turned around to face the fireplace and Calcifer. "Did Howl catch a cold or something?" you asked because you still had not seen him. He was still in his room and you started to get worried because it wasn't that early in the morning anymore. "I don't know, he hasn't talked to me yet today." Calcifer answered. "I'll bring him some soup." you said, an obvious excuse to see him and avoid telling Markl about your feathers. You stood up and ruffled Markl's hair before you started preparing some soup.
