cleaning day

You woke up sweating in your bed by the fireplace. You sat up quickly and examined your hands and neck frantically. There was no feathers on your hands, but the ones on your neck were still there. You heard the water run in the bathtub upstairs and you were filled with hope. "Calcifer, is that Howl?!" you asked. "Yeah, he just got in. It's looking pretty bad, you better figure out how to break the spell on us quick. Howl is running out of time!" Calficer answered. You let out a sigh in relief. The witch and Heen were still sleeping, it must have been very early in the morning. 

"Calcifer, madame Suliman told me about a demon stealing Howl's heart. What do you know about that?" you asked as you turned to face him. "That's confidential information I'm afraid." he answered. "How about i pour some cold water on you?" you said with a vicious smile as you walked up to him. "If I go out, Howl will die with me!" Calcifer told you defensively and flared up. You decided to leave it be and get up to get dressed.

You had put on a white, loose shirt and a pair of beige, poofy pants that you had tucked in your tall boots since your white heels were broken and your yellow dress was ruined. These clothes weren't often used by women in this age of time, but you didn't have anything else to wear other than your night gown, so this had to work. You had found the clothes in Howl's room, but he didn't need to know that. You had also put your hair up in a bun so your feathers, that had now made their way down to where your neck and back met, were visible and you were aware of that.

Today, you had made plans to get the aircraft out of the castle since you didn't want to bother Howl with that part anymore, but for that you needed Markl's help. You passed the bathroom where Howl was on your way to Markl's room. There wasn't a sound to be heard from there so you pressed your ear against the door to hear better and you heard some light splashing of water that was moving around in the bathtub. You smiled, knowing he was alive, and moved on to Markl's room.

Since both the other places where the castle's door could lead to were broken, the only place you could execute the plan was on top of a mountain. There was plenty of room and no other people or buildings to harm there, so it was probably the best place to do it either way.

You had tied a rope to the aircraft and Markl and Heen were standing outside with the end of the rope in their hands, mouth for Heen. The plan was that they would pull at the rope while you would push the aircraft out. With some help from Calcifer of course. "Ok Markl, start pulling!" you yelled down to him. He showed you a thumbs up and started pulling. Heen, who were biting the end of the rope behind Markl, got the point and started tugging at it too. You grabbed the aircaft and started pushing. Calcifer made the castle bend back to help out, but the aircraft was determined on not moving.

Then, a rather strange looking scarecrow came to sight. Markl stopped pulling andstarted at it. It was wearing a rather nice suit and a matching top hat. Its head consisted of a.. turnip that someone had drawn a big smile on. The scarecrow hopped over to the rope and jumped in place, signaling that it wanted to help. Markl looked up at you and you shrugged, so he put some rope around the scarecrow that it could help.

Now Heen, Markl and the scarecrow were tugging at the rope, but still there was no progress in moving the aircraft. You realized that it wasn't going to move so you did what any normal and frustrated person would do. You kicked it. 

This seemed to be working because the aircraft's wings started moving and it lifted itself from the ground. You gave it a push so it would get out and it decided to do so. It made its way out of the castles mouth and headed towards where Heen and Markl were standing. Markl's smile soon turned into wide eyes and he screamed while he ran away with Heen right behind him. The airship crashed on a rock and fell apart. Markl let out an exited laugh ans started running around in the grass with Heen.

You sweeped out the dust and pieces of rocks that had loosened from the wall. "Markl, it's time to eat!" you yelled down to him and he began to run back to the entry door once he heard you. You bit your lip while looking at the big hole in the wall, trying to think of ways you could cover the hole up so Howl wouldn't notice. Markl walked in the door with Heen right behind him. "Do you think Howl would notice the hole in the wall if I put a rug over it?" you asked him. Markl laughed at your stupid question as he ran over to the sink to wash his hands.
