You were standing by the door with Howl next to you. "Do you see this new color on the wheel?" Howl pointed out. You nodded. "It's a present for you." he said as he opened the door. Your eyes met the greenest meadow you had ever seen. There were various flowers growing in the grass and there was a clear pond there too. You and Howl walked through the door arm in arm. The only proper word to descrive the sight was magical.
The house you walked out of was small and cute. You couldn't help but smile at the beautiful landscape and Howl seemed to be enjoying it too. It all felt so unreal. Howl looked down at you and smiled as he saw the way you looked at it all.
You let go of his arm and ran further into the meadow. You fell down in the soft grass and gazed upon the blue sky. It was the perfect day. You sat up in the soft grass and saw Howl coming closer to you. He stopped in front of you and reached his hand out to help you up. "Did you use your magic for this Howl?" you asked as you held his arm. "Just a little, to help the flowers grow." he told you and started to lead you to the top of a small hill.
As you stood on the top, you saw a small cottage by the pond. "What a cute cottage!" you said while smiling. "That was my secret hideout." he said. "I used to spend a lot of time there by myself when I was young." "Alone?" you asked. "My uncle, who was a wizard, gave me this place as my private study." he answered. "And now, you can come here whenever you like." "Come!" he said and started to walk over to the cottage.
You started to get an off-putting feeling that this was too good to be true. As if was going to go away soon and leave you all behind. You let go of his arm and stayed on the top of the hill. He turned around with a confused look in his eyes. "What's the matter?" he asked. "I have this weird feeling that you are going to leave us behind." you said. "Howl, please tell me what's going on. I don't care if you're a monster. If you are a monster, I am too." you said and placed your hand on your feathers. He looked at you as he smiled and walked closer to you.
"I'm just setting things up so you guys can live a comfortable life here, Y/n." he answered with a smile. "With all there flowers you have here, you could easily open up a flower shop." he tried, but the unpleasant feeling you had didn't go away. It only grew bigger. "So you are leaving.." you said and his smile faded away. Tears formed in your eyes as you continued speeking. "Please, I know I can be of help to you, even though I'm cursed." you said and looked away. He held your chin and moved your head so you would look him in the eyes. "It's going to be ok, don't worry Y/n." he reassured you.
There was a faint sound of metal wings in the air and Howl turned around to see what it was. You saw a metal battleship flying by the meadow. It had several metal wings on each side in straight lines and under those were another set with smaller wings that moved faster than the first set. "What are those idiots doing out here?" Howl muttered. "Is it the enemies' or one of ours?" you asked as you got closer to him. "What difference does it make?" he asket back while staring at the battleship with fury in his eyes. "Murderers." he mumbled and held you closer by your waist.
Under the battleship there were many bombs lined up and with the push of one single button, they would be released. "We can't just let them fly off with all those bombs." Howl said and you knew that another plan had emerged in his mind. He reached his hand out again with a cleaver smile on his face. And with one movement he made the whole ship stop in mid air. You couldn't see what had happened on the inside of the ship, but you could see that all of the wings had stopped moving and an alarm went off. People started running around in panic to fix the problem.
You got a look at Howl's arm before he put it down at his side. His nails had grown long and black. And black, small feathers had grown out of his arm unevenly. "Howl!" you worriedly exclaimed, but he kept looking at the battleship. "Here they come." he said. The end of the ship was now sending out several bat-looking creatures wearing top hats. They looked kind of like the mix of a seal and a bat. They had spotted you and came flying rapidly towards you. Howl started running as fast as lightning back to the door, but he realized you wouldn't make it to the door in time with this speed.
"We have to take off." he said. Howl grew wings and was soon covered in feathers so he could be able to fly. He took of and held you up by your hands. The wind pulled your hair and made your blouse flow. "I'm letting go now!" Howl said as you got close to the little house you had come out of. "Howl!" you yelled as he let go. You flew to the door and it opened up to let you in. You landed on the stairs inside the castle and Markl came in from the new lot with Heen behind him. "Y/n are you ok?" he asked. "Yup." you grunted.
