Fever || Sunghoon x reader

Sharp pain in both of you's heads almost made you faint. You held your head in your hands. The pain was severe. Your attention on the boy went away because the pain completely turned off your thoughts. The same was with him.

The pain had him worked out. The thing was he had to contain himself because of the engenes. He didn't want to disappoint them nor to show something less than perfect from himself today. That's why he tried to contain the pain.

However, Jay spotted his strange behaviour and knew immediately what was it caused by. His hyung signalised to Heeseung that Sunghoon was feeling the fever. On the other hand, Hee signalised to Jungwon to announce something, and he understood right away.

"ENGENES! Get ready because we are starting right away!" With that said, the group rapidly took Sunghoon backstage. They were careful not to suspect them, which luckily was successful. 

While they were doing that, Auden saw everything. The look you gave Sunghoon and the way he returned it. ENHYPEN acted suspiciously in his eyes too, so he supposed the boy had felt the symptoms. He connected the dots and got the correct answer. You and Sunghoon were soulmates. He was shocked for a moment, but his thoughts had been ordered soon after.

"Y/n, are you okay?" Your best friend asked, knowing perfectly well that you were feeling the fever. He waited for your answer.

"Yeah, I may be feeling the fever." You were correct. Honestly, it was surprising that you could talk that good, despite the fact your head was going to explode. 

"Your soulmate might be somewhere here in the audience." Your friend had lied to you. God knows what was going through his mind. Why did he lie to you? That was going to stay a mystery for now. You did believe him, though. What other choice do you have?

Meanwhile backstage.

"Someone, please give him a pill!"

"Someone, please give him a pill!" Hee asked for help from the people who took the pills. They had to act speedily because the concert had begun.

"Here, take mine!" Ni-ki gave them his last pill, wishing that the medicine he took before could last until the end of the concert. 

"Hyung, take it now!" Jungwon gave him the capsule and hoped that it could help fast.

Sunghoon was lying down, fighting with the pain. His heart rate was beyond normal. The fever had made his movements slow and difficult to make. They had a couple of minutes more. After the pill, the boy had been feeling the same. It took about 10 minutes for the medicine to start working little by little. 

So, let me explain to you something about these pills. They work on both of the soulmates if one of them take it. Well, there were weaker ones that work on only the person who takes them, but Ni-ki's were from the stronger ones. That happens because of the hormone which causes the fever. When the soulmates are close, the hormone increases, but when the pill suppresses the increase of the hormone of one's body, the other one's hormones keep the normal rate. But if the pill is weak, it acts as a painkiller and stops the symptoms but not the increase of the hormone.

That's why when the capsule began working on him your symptoms weakened too. Both of you could finally see clearly. Your minds started functioning like normal again. Thanks to Ni-ki, you were saved. 

"Sunoo hyung, can I talk to you in private?" Riki called out for Sunoo. The matter was important. His hyung nodded, coming with him to the nearest room. 

"Please tell me you have some pills left..." The maknae was worried. Maybe he had to wait for Jungwon or Jay to give him pills.

"No, I took the last one before you, don't tell me your pills had ended..." Sunoo suddenly became nervous. The situation wasn't good at all. 

"What are we going to do?" Riki panicked for a moment, but an idea crossed his hyung's mind.

"When did you take the pill?" The boy asked with hope.

"I think half an hour ago." The maknae thought for a second and calmed down a little.

"Don't worry, we have 5 hours and a half more. We will go to the pharmacy right after the concert, and it should be fine." Sunoo held his hand, making him comfortable. A hug warmed their hearts. It wasn't easy for them too.

"Okay, are we ready?" Heeseung questioned with an enthusiastic tone. He made sure every member could give his best and make the engenes happy. The members shouted, assuring him they were more than ready.

"Let's make the best concert ever and make our engenes proud!" With that they went on the stage again, starting with their first song.

The whole concert was beyond comparison. Nothing could describe the feelings your heart went through the whole time. You couldn't stop smiling. The group was fantastic. Their vocals were so clean. The dances were so powerful. And their visuals were stunning. But Sunghoon caught your attention since the beginning. He wasn't leaving your mind. He looked at you several times more.

"ENGENES, THANK YOU FOR COMING HERE AND THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US. THE LAST SONG IS WRITTEN ABOUT THE THING NOBODY CAN ESCAPE FROM, THE FEVER!" Jungwon, the leader, announced the end of the concert. While waiting for the music to start, you thought about Sunghoon again.

While Sunghoon was singing, your looks locked on each other. It was as if the song was sung for you and you only. You felt something new at that moment. You felt love. 

Pure and real love.
