Fever || Sunghoon x reader

- friend zone -

"Wha-at?!" Sunghoon's eyes widened. His eyebrows were curved up. His jaw fell, and his mouth opened. The boy stepped back in awe because of the question he had to answer. What did he have to say now? 

The silence was louder than Sunoo's whines when someone photobombed his perfect shot. At that moment Sunghoon was pondering everything. The rest of the group was waiting and looking at each other. 

Thoughts of confessing everything were keeping him slow with the answer. He knew what he had to do, so it was extremely difficult for him to leave his feelings behind. The final decision was set. He gulped before opening his mouth because the things he was going to say weren't good.

After his conversation with Jungwon, it was best to listen to his words as the leader of the group since he knew what was best for the team.

"I don't like her. She is just a friend." A lie. Everything was a lie. He liked you, even loved you. The thought of living without you was driving him crazy. That's why he decided to end the future relationship for the best of everyone. Otherwise, he would have to leave your side by hurting the both of you.

His words were shot like an arrow right inside your heart. The look on your face was sorrowful. A tear escaped your eye, so you bent your head because you didn't want others to see you in that state. Crying for that boy. However, some of them noticed your reaction.

"Let's go home. It's already late enough." Heeseung insisted after seeing the effect of the game. 

The boy stood up and sent a death glare at Sunoo for the idea of playing the game. On the other hand, Sunoo's cheerful face dropped down after witnessing how his suggestion ruined everything. He felt guilty for everything. Because of that, the young boy went to you.

"I am so sorry for everything." He curved down to your ear, making sure nobody heard his words. Sunoo opened his bag, searching for something. After finding it, he handed you a napkin. As he noticed your hands shaking, he helped you with wiping away the tears.

"I am okay." Even you couldn't believe yourself. The sunny boy looked at you and forced a smile on his face, which turned into a real and honest one.

"Everything will be fine. You always have me." His adorable side never failed to make you feel better. You could never believe that he was this kind to you. It was a dream come true. Your wish at that moment was for the engenes to know that their idols were such good people, but you couldn't tell anyone.

The sweet angel helped you stand up by giving you his hand. Before reaching the other, he stopped you and suddenly hugged you, making you warm and secure. The feeling of having a real friend.

"If you feel bad, you can text me anytime." His whispers in your ear made you tighten the hug, letting him know you were extremely grateful for everything. When you broke the hug, a smile appeared on your face because you felt better thanks to him.

Then he held your hand, making you feel secure around the boy who just friend-zoned you. The members acted as if nothing had happened, and you were calm because of that.  You didn't want to feel any more awkward, so you just distracted yourself. When you reached the car, you remembered your seat was next to Sunghoon's.

"I will sit next to y/ n, so you can sit in my place, Hyung," Sunoo said to the white-haired boy, making him feel even worse. He wanted to apologise to you but couldn't say a word because he knew it was for your good. At least for now, he had to keep his distance.

"Do you want to sleep in our dorm tonight?" Sunoo asked you, thinking that it would be better if he kept an eye on you for the night. He didn't want you to cry all night because of his stupid game.

"No, no, I don't want to intrude." You quickly turned down his offer, making him think what he could do to watch you the whole night.

"Then I can come to your place if you want?" His offer didn't seem too bad. At that moment, you didn't want to be left alone. Auden was somewhere with his friends, so you were alone. Maybe that was a good idea.

"That's a good idea. You can come over." You answered, making the boy jump in his place from happiness. It's been forever since he had a pyjama party with someone different from his members. Hearing that made Sunghoon clench his fists. He hated that idea from the bottom of his heart, but at the same time, he couldn't do anything since he kind of rejected you. He hated himself for that.

When the driver reached your place, Sunoo got out of the car and opened the door for you.

"Bye, guys. I will be here after taking her to school tomorrow." The boy announced as he closed the door of the car. Some of the members, like Heeseung, for example, were happy that he would look after you and won't leave you alone in that state. However, some of them weren't happy at all, like Sunghoon and Ni-ki. 

Well, he was walking to your flat and nobody could change that now. They could only watch until both of you left their view, and they couldn't see you anymore.

As you reached the floor where your flat was, you turned to Sunoo with big eyes, wanting to say something to him.

"Thank you for everything. if you weren't there, what would I do?" Your comment surprised the boy sitting in front of you.

"No need to thank me. I caused everything. I should thank you for being such a good friend to everyone." He returned your gratitude. Then you reached for the door, but you heard a voice.

"Y/n?"
