Hey, this is Jkaloko. I need to thank everyone for reading my previous works, I truly do appreciate it. I need to thank those that stuck around and still supporting me. Living life, working, and becoming an author is not easy. I'm surprised that I'm still here 😂

But I'm glad that I'm back telling great stories that everyone needs to read. Gunpoint Avenue is a new journey for me. I had the idea for this book in my head since late 2020. I always wanted to write an African American female lead spy action thriller book.

I didn't write this book to pander to African women, even though I'm attracted to Nigerian women. But I didn't come here to sweet talk or win over Nigerian women's hearts.

I'm going to treat my main female lead like I do with all characters; give them a purpose, personality, goal, struggles, trials and tribulations, and what they mean to me and themselves.

I'm not going to sexualize my main female character or any female characters in this book. There's nothing wrong with sex or if women and men enjoy sex. Sex is a regular part of life and it is good if consensual. But I don't want my main focus of this book to be about sex or disrupt the story with a random sex scene. So I decided to not include any sex scenes or the mentions of sex.

No vulgar language! It's so easy to throw a cuss word in at anytime. I feel like it's unnecessary and not really needed.

That's why this book will be PG-13. PG-13 means that it is not suitable for people under 13 years of age. This book will have intense action, thriller, drama, and heavy topics such as anxiety and more.

There have been great and legendary action movies that are PG-13 like the Mission Impossible films, the Jason Bourne films, James Bond, Taken, and all of the MCU films. Which proves to me that action doesn't need to be Rated R to be taken seriously or considered good.

This book does deal with anxiety. I experienced loneliness, shyness, social anxiety, bullying, drug issues, depression, multiple suicide attempts, panic attacks, and a lot of mental issues throughout my life. I do wish that I never experienced those. But I'm not going to let my past experience define who I am in the present and future. My life is not perfect, but I'm still alive to make things better. I need to thank God, my parents, siblings, and anyone else who helped me find ways to deal with my anxiety. Battling anxiety is not easy especially if you dealt with it for a long time.

So I dedicate this book to anyone going through anxiety. There are all types of anxiety from Social anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, depression, thinking about death all the time, suicide, loneliness, and more. If you're experiencing any type of anxiety, I hope this book can help you in anyway.

I don't write my books to save people, I never considered myself as a savior. I believe it's important for people to save themselves and let them see their own worth in life. But it does mean a lot that works inspire people and help those in their day to day life.

Lastly, I need to thank Hey_Ma_Bitches for creating the book cover and the banner. I truly do appreciate it!

Shoutout to RuthieBalo thedreamelixir_ Madinah_Writes and others that continue to support me.

That's all I got to say. Thank you for sticking with me and following this new journey. Enjoy reading my new book, "Gunpoint Avenue".
