"Raeki, how could you?!" Sookyo shrieked, rummaging through her nightstand drawer.
"I didn't, I swear! He- He's lying to you!" I shouted back, backing toward her bedroom door.
"It would make more sense that you sexually assaulted him, after all you did attempt to kill me and yourself!"
I wanted so badly to scream in her face, but that's what she wanted. That sly, cunning woman wanted me to get pissed.
"You know that it isn't true. Just stop. You're so full of yourself."
She finally found whatever she was searching for, and pulled out a pistol. I was confused about how she managed to find a weapon in South Korea, but never the less, I didn't question.
"It's been a full day, and you haven't given me any reason to believe you, Raeki. Remember what we discussed yesterday?"
She took the safety off of the gun, and pointed it at me. How she could even think of killing her own cousin, I didn't know, but I ignored my mind and ran.
Running. I was running. I spent my Thursday running and hiding. My mind was uneasy, but I was still running. I had to. Everything she and Jiwon said yesterday, it kept coming back to me.
"I'll kill you, Raeki. Even if it's the last thing I do."
She didn't believe me, Sookyo didn't believe me. She believed her boyfriend more than me. Jiwon, that damn asshole who ruined everything even more.
Why did I even think that Sookyo would believe me? Jiwon could act really well, and my cousin never believed me in anything anyway. As an only child, before I lived with Uncle Yomi, I was the good child. But my cousin ruins everything.
"Raeki, how could you do this to me?You're supposed to love me!"
"I tried to love you, even through the things you did to me. What kind of person would attempt to imprison their own cousin?"
"The kind of person that was betrayed time and time again!"
"I never did anything to wrong you! Why do you want me out of your life so badly?"
"You keep stealing the good things in life. Happiness, smiling, self-esteem. You make me feel like shit every single day!"
The words rang through my head like a bell being struck. I continued running. A bullet hit the street sign next to me. Well the pole of the sign, seeing as I was only 5'5.
"Raeki, get back here!" My Uncle Yomi yelled, sprinting down the alley along my cousin's side. "You aren't leaving like this!"
He didn't care. He only said that because we were now reaching the public, and he wanted to make it seem as if I was running away.
"Watch me."
I ran as fast as possible. I reached a turn, and saw Jiwon standing next to a policeman, watching for me to round the corner. He had planned everything, I knew it.
I stopped before I was visible, made a right turn, and saw a tall building, molding and rotting away with age.
Without thinking, my legs carried me to the building, and the door was shoved open. I stopped hearing gunshots, but they sound of footsteps was even closer than comfort would allow. I hit the floor, a terrified feeling coursing my veins.
Of course they wouldn't hesitate to shoot me, and of course they would tell the cops it was suicide. Sookyo knew how to forge my handwriting, Jiwon knew how to lie his ass off, and Uncle Yomi would surely know how to get rid of any evidence that proved it was them.
