It was the best of times, the worst of crimes. I struck a match and blew your mind. But I didn't mean it. And you didn't see it

Alaina couldn't help, but sigh in relief while in the small wash room feeling the water run over her body. The water ran through her hair, dripped down her face onto her shoulders and chest and down her back and legs. The room smelled like soap and she smiled given she smelled like mud from before. She must of been there for twenty minutes before finally climbing out and dried herself. She knew it was likely the Mandalorian would want hot water when taking his shower, if he hadn't already. She grabbed her new clothes placing them on and looping her belt before drying her hair as best she and left the washroom only to be met by the child.

" Well, hello, little guy." She laughed gently picking him up." Did the big Tin man leave you to roam the ship?"

The child giggled loudly playing with her damp hair and she smiled going up to the cockpit seeing the Mandalorian putting in some coordinates.

" Well, I can say that the shower is all nice and working." She said setting the child into his cradle before sitting in her own seat noticing him." I see you got cleaned."

Mando looked down to his armor before nodding," I had mud all over me. Wasn't pretty."

Alaina nodded her head even though he wasn't looking at her leaving the room to be in silence. She stared at the back of his beskar helmet and wondered what he was like beyond the mask. She wondered more how it felt to wear it. No doubt it had to be hot in there and small with the only real sound he hears is his own voice.

"You don't take the helmet off?" She asked, breaking the silence.

He turned his head towards her slowly," No."

" Why? I mean it has to get annoying at some point, right?"

He continues to look at her, his helmet impassive," No." He answers yet again.

" Come on, I need more than a one word answer." She said, but he went back to his controls." But like...is it that serious? Do they allow for, y'know, little mistakes?"

"Little mistakes?"

He's amused. Alaina can pick up that much from the way he had answered her.

" Yeah. Like, you're telling me no one has seen your face?" She laughed." Since you took the oath? Come on, you must've slipped up once or twice. Mistakes are like bound to happen"

" We can't allow mistakes to happen." Mando clarifies.

"So, no one can look at you,"

"It's... my religion," He explained.

Alaina thought he was going to stop here but, to her amazement, he speaks the most he ever has to her in one swift breath.

" My people were hunted, had to go into hiding. It...it made sense not to remove our helmets for our safety." He pauses for a moment, searching for words, then continues. "It bothered me at first. But I got used to it, after a while. Sacrifices are necessary in life."

She nodded her head with a small smile respecting the Mandalorian in front of her. It was one thing to thank the person that had saved your life, but it was another to come to their life style and become a Mandalorian himself.

"What about touch?" She asked next.

His voice is low," What?"

"What I mean is, can I do this?"
