Was I out of line? Did I say something way too honest, made you run and hide? Like a scared little boy. I looked into your eyes. Thought I knew you for a minute, now I'm not so sure.

Alaina woke up with Din's face in her hair and his legs tangled with hers. His slow breathing tickled the nape of her neck and his arm is heavy around her middle, holding her close. It's amazed her how he manages to hold her so tight even when he's sleeping, but she wasn't going to complain. She felt protected. So protected in a long time that she never wanted to not feel like this again. The low hum of the ship threatened to lull her back to sleep, but she couldn't seem to want to now. Her brain was too active on the activities from the previous night.

He kissed her.

Din had kissed Alaina and Alaina had kissed Din. Butterflies grew in her stomach at the memories as she nestled further into Din's embrace, relishing in the sleepy way he shifted to press his face to her neck. Alaina couldn't help, but wonder how they ended up like this. Months ago, she thought her presence annoyed Din to his very core, but last night he saved her life and kissed her. Her hand slid down her body until it rested over Din's, the curves of his knuckles under her fingers, so warm and so strong and so familiar.

She had feelings for Din for what felt like forever now. Buried them deep in her heart knowing he would never feel the same and it bothered her that she still did not know. Sure, he kissed her and warmed her body, but did it mean something? For the past months they had been together did he dream about her like she did of him? Had he been wanting something to happen between them to get where they are now? The alarms outside of the ship caused both Alaina and Din to sit up in alarm. Alaina could feel the blanket tussle around them and squeezed her eyes shut.

" My eyes are closed."

" My helmets on." He called out already having the small hatch open for them to get out.

With the light of the main hull, she could see he truly did have his helmet on, but turned away to the child's quarters knowing the noise had to wake him up too. She pressed the small button smiling at the sight of the child rubbing the sleep out of his big brown eyes.

" Morning little guy." She greeted kissing the top of his head before balancing him on one hip and climbing the ladder with the other.

" Looks like we made it." Din spoke hearing the two of them come into the cockpit.

Alaina frowned in amazement," That soon?" She questioned.

" We...really slept in." He said in a monotone voice.

She caught it instantly, her stomach turning as he mind immediately thought of the worst.

" You should get ready."

" O-okay." She stumbled quickly turning around to deal with her emotions alone.

She gripped the ladder tightly noticing how shaky they were as she climbed down trying to think of everything she did wrong. Accidentally falling into an ice river was one thing, but now that she was in better health, was he upset with her? She shook her head going to her bag to get a change of clothes. There was no way he would be upset. She had saved his life before too. What if he regretted the kiss? The thought made her stop all together. Tears threatened to leave her eyes, but she couldn't let it out.

If he did regret it, there was nothing she could do. She knew what she signed up for when she met him. He was a Mandalorian. A lone ranger that simply followed his code and fellow people. They were just friends. She threw her bag to the corner going into the washroom to get change almost begging her mind to think of something else when louder alarms sounded.
