Chapter 4 - Lunch Time Rush

Today was my second day here at Koudo Ikusei High School.

Yesterday was more of an orientation so today will be the start of classes. The teachers were surprisingly nice as they gave a rundown of the policies and rules of the school and inside their respective classes.

Surprisingly, no word was brought up regarding yesterday's scuffle. Since no one called him out on it, Sudou proceed to sleep peacefully during classes. I doubt our teachers didn't notice him sleeping but they seems to have no intention of waking him up.

I guess the teachers are as lax as the school they work in.

Before I knew it, it's already lunchtime. Everybody start getting up and approach the people they made acquaintance with yesterday. It looks like most of the class want to eat at the cafeteria today. I'd be a liar if I think that I don't have the same thought, almost everyone in a new school would like to check out the cafeteria.

I should probably ask Ayanokouji-kun to accompany me but he seems to be talking with Horikita-san.

Let me rephrase that, he is being insulted by Horikita-san.

I'm already on bad terms with her so I didn't even dare to listen to their conversation.  As I was deciding whether or not I should wait for her to leave, Hirata began to speak as he stands up.

"I was thinking of going to eat, does anyone want to come with me?"

Not even a second passed by, almost all the girls that is still in the class flocked towards him while most of the boys witnessing this phenomenon has the word "jealousy" written on their face.

However, Hirata began to look around the room. It seems he is being conscious of being the only boy in the group. His gaze then fell onto the person behind me.

 "Umm, Ayanoko───"

"Hirata-kun, hurry up!"

However, it seems that the girls wants to leave with Hirata as soon as possible. Whether the timing is intentional or not, Hirata showed an apologetic look before leaving. I looked behind me to see Ayanokouji-kun awkwardly stretched his arm to scratch his head. It looks like he was looking forward to being invited to lunch by Hirata. Horikita stood up and left the classroom but not before giving Ayanokouji a pityful look.

"Hey Ayanokouji-kun, do you want to check out the cafeteria with me?"

I decided to invite him since we are acquaintances. He seems glad that I did as he nodded in respond. We stood up and began to walk out the classroom but before we can reach the door, I notice a pair of eyes staring at us. I let out a sigh.

" Kita-san, would you like to join us too?"

I guess she was nervous to ask us out herself. She smiled as she approach us.

"Of course Shizutake-kun, thanks for the invite."

The three of us began to walk to the cafeteria. On the way there, a familiar figure stop us.

"Ayanokouji-kun... right?"

Upon seeing her up close, Kushida-san is really quite cute. Her straight, short, brown hair complements her beautiful face. She is wearing the newer uniform of the school which has shorter skirts so it shows more of her thighs. Along with her outgoing and friendly attitude, no one can deny that she is one of the cutest students in our year.

"Oh,  and you must be ... Shizutake-kun and Kita-san?"

Both of us nodded.

"I'm Kushida in the same class. Will you remember my name?"
