"Alright, get comfortable. I'm about to tell you your scores."Our study group started settling in my dorm. Coincidentally, everybody took the spot they were in yesterday. Samada and Kita sat on the bed, Takeshi sat on the floor, and Aikawa remained standing by the bed. I reached inside my bag and took out their test papers that I checked last evening. I then stood before them to announce their performance.
"Takeshi-kun, you really seemed to be struggling with your studies. You only scored 45 points on the test. Lowest amongst the four."
Takeshi frowned but is not surprised.
"However, you did excel at Japanese. 18 out of 20 points. At least you only have four subjects to worry about."
"I see. Thank you, Shizutake-kun. I'll try my best to improve on those subjects."
I turned to Aikawa, who just looked annoyed.
"Aikawa-san. You weren't lying yesterday. You fluked the Math, Science, and Japanese part of the test."
"Geez, thanks for rubbing it in, asshole."
"However, you did very well with the other two subjects. You got the highest score on English with 15 points and perfected the Social Studies portion of the test. You got 52 total points."
Everyone looked at Aikawa with awe.
"Impressive, Aikawa-san. I didn't expect you to be that good at Social Studies."
"Yeah! You also got the highest score in English! I'm so jealous."
"Well done, Aikawa-san."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Can you please get it over with, Shizutake-kun,"
Alright, Ms. Hothead. I turned toward Samada.
"Samada-san, you did decent on the test for the most part. However, you did fluke the Social Studies portion of the test with only 5 points out of 20. If you haven't, you could have taken the top spot."
"I see. I'll work on it, Thank you."
"Wait, does that mean I-,"
"Yes, Kita-san. You scored the highest in the test with 63 points. Your score in each subject is about the same so just keep doing what you're doing, I guess."
Kita fist pumped as she celebrates her high score. Everyone else congratulated her."Alright, I'll hand you guys back your papers. I left some comments on them on what you did wrong and how can you improve. Read them while I go get our lectures."
Once I gave them back their papers, they started to review their answers. I went back to my bag and brought out four notebooks that I made last night. When I came back, the four of them has started to compare each other's test.
"Ok, I made each of you a notebook last night. Each specifically made to contain the stuff you needed to review as well as tips I found on the internet. I suggest you read them along your lecture notes. I also include some practice questions and exercise you can try. The answers for those are at the back."
The four of them took their respective notebook, their reaction is mixed between surprised and impressed.
"Also, if you feel like asking question, try asking those who excel at that particular subject. Like Aikawa with English and Social Studies or Takeshi with Japanese."
"Heh, trying to push your work on to them, sensei-kun?"
Caught Red-handed.
"Kita-san, I believe Shizutake-kun has done more than enough to assist us with this. If any of you need help with Japanese, don't be afraid to ask me. It's the least I can do to help."
