I had been home from the hospital for a week, I was still weak and can only travel short distances on my own but I was getting better. A lot has happened in the two months I was away, Marking has been officially declared missing.
After sweet Mr. Robinson there were 5 more murders in the same way Eleanor was killed. Mrs Lillian a sweet librarian and the Jackson family who were our neighbours. Jessica Jackson was from my class, her mother and farther and her baby sister were all posed on the Sofa when they were found.
Someone from School had called it in after her friend got worried about her. the suspicion it was me was dispersed with my being in the hospital. I sighed as I lay there day dreaming, the vibration from my phone on my bedside table brought me back to the matter at hand. who was killing people.
I looked at my phone and smile slightly. "Hiya June." I said as I answered the pone pressing the cold screen to my face.
"It's Dr. Mordovia when we are in session, you know this Arabella." she scolded lightly with a stern voices, I coughed lightly trying to hold in a laugh
"Yeah well, Hard to know when session takes place when you use your personal phone aunty." I taunted with a slight smirk.
"Shit." she groaned. "I need to change the case's I swear... fine we will have just a normal catch up then. How are you hunny?" I let out a sigh and sat up leaning against the head board as the kitten meow lightly getting back to sleep on my lap.
"Are you asking as my aunt or an actual therapist." I said, it wasn't really a question but I knew she would answer it anyway
"Technically a little bit of both kiddo." I heard the amusement in her voice from my stalling. "Quit stalling."
"Well, I'm healed and well rested thanks tot he coma, I can't walk fully yet but i-"
"you know that's not what I mean." she said, her voice held no amusement, she meant business. "how are you feeling about Eleanor."
"I don't want to speak about this." I mummer looking at my lap and kept focus on the purring bundle of fur. I heard her sigh before she picked back up the conversation.
"I get it kid, My brother went down there for her and now he is missing. I'm worried he will turn up like Eleanor too but talking about it helps. Are you having any nightmares?"
yes.
"Mark was your brother?" I asked changing the subject. I heard her huff in annoyance of me avoiding her question but continues.
"Yes, Mark is my older brother." she remained silent waiting
"I met his a couple of days before I ended up in the hospital."
"Oh?" she sounded surprised.
"Did you not know?"
"No, I would have talked him out of it. I only knew he would speak with my mother about Eleanor to finder her that was it. You were never meant to meet him."
"because he is my farther?"
"Did he tell you that?" she sounded annoyed, pissed even
"yeah, as soon as he laid eyes on me." I nodded thoguht I knew she shouldn't see me.
"June what happened? like the true story about them?" she sighed loudly
"Honestly it is a conversation you should have with your mother... It isn't my place." I rolled my eyes.
"We're not exactly on the greatest of terms right now." I grumbled.
"mmm, she told me."
"you speak to her much?"
"No not really but she told me she was worried about you and so am I with everything going on." she said, her voice held genuine worry.
"I miss her." I whispered. she staid silent egging me to continue. "there are so many blank memories but ones with her are all clear!" she hummed
"you know I used to believe that everything happened for a reason, that everything had some goodness in it even if you couldn't see it but after what happened with you and that girl when you were little I lost to goodness in the bad things and I can no longer believe that... It was a shame what happened to her and I am so sorry." He voice broke.
"Wait...What happened to me?" I asked, I couldn't remember anything bad happening to me. she was silent, I knew she was still there by the sound of her panicked breathing.
"Aunt-"
"Oh my look at the time! I better be off."
"wait!" I shouted.
"Love you!" she sang before hanging up the phone, I lowered the phone and stared at it for a moment. What the hell is going on? Something in this town is off, I knew this from before but now?
Mystic flashed through my head and I looked tot he window. I need to speak with her. I grabbed my laptop opening it up, I google Mystic name on Facebook, Instagram everything I could think of before I googled her name and Ivan's name.
My blood ran cold at my searches.
