Later that day, Jaemin and Hyun were put to detention, which disturbed Yujin because it was Jaemin's first day at school. Her guilt had led her there, outside of the detention room.
The girl in the pink cardigan strolled back and forth, waiting eagerly for Jaemin to finish whatever task he had been given. She nibbles her lower lip nervously and runs her fingers through her hair, which now falls down past her shoulder.
The sound of the door slamming open jolted her to her feet, and she stared straight through the black-haired boy who was beaming down at her. "Hey," he said. Jaemin melted when he spotted her worried expression on her face.
"It's okay, I'm fine," he added, flashing her his famous smile, which he hadn't shown in a long time. She managed to smile as the anxiety she had felt before receded. "Thank God. I haven't even taken you around yet "She replied it while pushing her hair away from her face.
Jaemin couldn't stop himself from laughing. "Is that why you're here?" he asked, his brows raised as he clutched the strap of his schoolbag. Yujin flushed as she listened to what he had said. "Of course," she said, attempting to calm herself down.
"You don't have to show me around today. It's getting late, "He stated while resting against the wall. Yujin's gaze turned outside, where the evening sun threw long shadows on the ground and slanting rays cast a warm orange hue over the sky.
Yujin bites her lower lip in response to the silence that has fallen between her and Jaemin. She could feel Jaemin's gaze trailing over her sun-kissed face with her brown eyes were illuminated into breathtaking golden orbs by the sun's yellow tinge.
The silence was broken by Jaemin's loud exhaled. Yujin turned to face him, who was already gazing down on her. "Let me take you home," he added as he offered his hand to Yujin.
Yujin paused, her gaze falling to his hand before returning to his eyes. Slowly rising her hand to interlock her fingers in his, they strolled side by side towards the parking area; a warm smile formed on Jaemin's lips.
Her eyes widen as she eyes his motorcycle. "Wow," she said, expressing her amazement. Clasping her mouth, as she can't believe what she just did. Jaemin chuckled at her amazement as he handed her the spare helmet he carried.
"I-uh -" Yujin mumbled, her eyes wandering nervously. "It's ok; I promise you'll be safe. Just hang on tight, "He said he hopped on his bike. Yujin was caught off guard when Jaemin revved his motorcycle.
Yujin hopped behind him, clutching his backpack. Jaemin reached out his hand to hers and drew her in to wrap her arms around his upper abdomen. Yujin blushed at their position, which she found nerve-wracking as well when Jaemin set off.
"I heard you got into a fight, Buddy?" his father said as he sipped his dark black coffee. His mother, who is sitting on the other side of the couch, shakes her head at the news of his fight.
"He's being rude to my friend," Jaemin said, lowering his gaze to avoid his father's black eyes, which were nearly identical to his own. He could hear him humming in response to his answer.
"But it doesn't mean you have to solve it with violence," his father added, his gaze fixed on Jaemin. Jaemin nodded, getting what he meant.
"I'm sorry," he said. A chuckle from his father's lips, sending his head to snap toward him. "There's no need for you to apologise. You did the right thing by standing up for your friend.
I'm actually surprised you made one on your first day. But," he began. "No violence," he advised stern. Jaemin nodded at his father with a smile on his face.
"Promise. No violence," he replied.
Under a dazzling midnight velvet sky, with stars so vivid they attracted the gaze to the heavens, Jaemin stood on his balcony, staring at the black sky lit up by gleaming stars.
A sight of silhoutte from Yujin's balcony piqued his attention. Jaemin stood there watching Yujin, who was already dressed in her nightgown, sliding open the door to her balcony.
Yujin flinched as she locked her gaze on his, causing him to smile at her surprised expression. Yujin raises her hand in a questioning motion, asking why he hasn't fallen asleep yet.
Jaemin grinned as he remembered the night of their first encounter in the same way she was at the time. Jaemin shrugs his shoulders. Yujin's gaze, which had been fixed on his, had suddenly drifted and cease.
Jaemin followed her eyes to a swing in her front yard. Jaemin raised his eyes to her, who was already looking at him and pointing to the swing. Jaemin nodded, showing that he understood what she was saying.
Jaemin took it gently down the stairs, trying not to wake anybody else in the house with his steps. Jaemin left his front door wearing a black hoodie and black trousers.
Jaemin stepped into the pitch-black night towards Yujin's house, which was just a few meters away. Jaemin's gaze was drawn to Yujin's petite figure on the swing as soon as he arrived at her house.
He strolled past her gate and sat down next to Yujin on an unoccupied swing. Yujin shifted her gaze to his. "I know I look good, you don't have to stare," he teased as he turned his glance to her.
Yujin was glad for the darkness, which masked her likely crimson face from him. Yujin took a breath and raised her eyes to the black sky, which was ablaze with sparkling stars.
Jaemin's gaze never strayed from her. He was thinking about how crazy he had gone over the girl who had been in his dream and was now sitting right in front of him.
