"Yujin honey, have you packed up for tomorrow?" The lady asked as she packed some fruits and snacks into a box. Yujin will join the rest of the family in returning to Seoul. "I've packed some, and will continue some tonight," Yujin said.
Jia softly patted the girl's head. "I'm happy you're coming, honey," she said, fallen in love with the girl after months of spending time with her. Yujin smiles as she expresses her happiness to the entire family for welcoming her into.
Jia sat there and watched as the sun sank and the moon appeared in the sky. "Yujin, it's late; go home and pack. We will see you tomorrow, honey "She said as she stood up from her seat. Her voice echoed throughout, "Jaemin!!"
"Yes," Jaemin said as he walked down the stairs from above. "Send Yujin's home," she said as she hugged the girl and left the room to the kitchen. "Let's go," Jaemin muttered, reaching out his hand for Yujin to take.
Yujin's smile never fades as they stroll hand in hand. "I'm very happy," she exclaimed, catching the boy's attention. Her smile was contagious, as Jaemin matched her smile. "Me too," he said, his gaze drawn to the girl's side profile.
"I'm so excited to see Na Bi," she cheered, her eyes beaming. Jaemin let out a little giggle. As they get to her house, they ground to a stop on the path outside. Jaemin spun around, his gaze settling on her, as their gazes locked.
Jaemin leaned closer, pressing his lips against Yujin's lips, and Yujin giggled. Jaemin could feel the excitement when she smiled through it and he likes the peach flavour that lingered on his lips as their lips parted.
"See you tomorrow, angel," he said as he waved goodbye to the girl before she entered her house. The sound of branches being stepped on catches his attention, and he turns around to face the wood, but all he sees is darkness.
Jaemin strolled back to his house, stretched his arms. "Mom, I'm going to take a nap before dinner," he informed as he climbed the stairs to his room. Snuggled into his bed, the boy dozed off to an unexpected dream.
Yujin tossed the last bag of garbage into the dump and turned around seeing Jaemin's room was dark. "He must be napping," she reasoned to herself as she walked into her house, but she stopped when she heard footsteps.
Yujin's eyes scanned her surroundings before sprinting inside and locking the doors. The loud bang on the door made her gasp and her eyes widen, and she shifted her gaze to the screen to see who was outside.
Her gaze trembled as she watched her uncle attempted to break down the door. Her fingers trembled as cold sweat ran down her face, and her breathing became difficult whenever she sought to inhale. "He's alive?" she whimpered.
Yujin took a step back as she dashed upstairs and into her bed. As she leaned against the wall, she could hear her heart hammering inside her chest. She flinched as she heard a sound of the door bursting open below.
She carefully grabbed her phone, clasping her mouth with her fingers, and dialled Jaemin's number, but he won't answer. Her hands shook, forcing her to drop her phone, which boomed throughout her room.
Her eyes widened as her room door swung open, revealing her uncle staring at her. "Long time no see, Princess," he stated as he neared the girl. Yujin was trapped against wall by her uncle, who seized her by the neck and strangled her.
"Do you know what, if you die, I'll inherit all the money your mother has," he grinned as the girl squirmed in his grip. "But it'll be no fun," he said as he let go of his grip. His gaze wandered across her features.
The man easily slung the girl over his shoulder and descended the stairwell into the basement. Yujin kicked her legs in the air and punched her uncles in the back. Once they arrived in the basement, his uncle sat her in a chair.
She was tethered to the chair. "I'll have the house as well," he muttered, leaving the girl alone in the dark basement looking for the property documents. Yujin whimpered, her body still shivering from the anxiety.
"Jaemin," she said quietly as she recalled his dark room. "He's sleeping," Yujin said as she looked around the dimly lit basement. "I know you're here, Jaemin," she said, as if she couldn't believe it. "You have to wake up, baby," she urged.
Her voice echoed, "You need to help me, so please wake up." "It;s happening, it's not a dream, Jaemin," she uttered which she questioned herself that this might not work. Her eyes adapted to the dim light of the room as she scanned the room.
A knife on the wooden table near the stairs drew her attention as she moved with the chair towards it. Her actions were halted when she heard footsteps upstairs. Slowly cutting through, the rope loosened around her body.
She took a cautious step up the stairs, hearing a voice groaned in the living room. As she went over, she noticed that Jaemin was straddled by her uncle, who had punched him in the face. She reached upstair, covering her mouth.
She grabbed the baseball bat near the stairwell and swung it over her head, hitting her uncle in the head, knocking him to the side. Jaemin's eyes widen as he stands up, grips the girl's hand, and runs outside.
Outside the girl's house, cops are waiting for her uncle with their guns drawn. Once he made they are safe, Jaemin drew the girl into his arms, his gasping for breath from the fear he felt when she heard the girl screaming for him in his dream.
"Did it work?" Yujin asked, her head buried in his chest. Jaemin nodded and relievedly hugged the girl in his arms. "I'm not sure how you do it, but that's amazing," she added as she drew circles on the boy's back.
"I'm just glad you're okay," he replied, his gaze trailing her features as he cupped her cheek. Jaemin's eyes almost welled up with tears as he ran his fingers across the girl's face. Yujin softly placed her hand to his face, saying, "Don't cry Jaemin."
"As long as I have you," she continued as she placed her ear to his chest, her favorite tunes. Jaemin exhaled a sigh of relief, knowing that the girl was now secure in his arms. "Let's get you treated," Yujin said as she drew away.
"Now I'll have to treat a future doctor as a future architect,".
