Yujin chuckled as she saw the boy's sad look, poking his cheek with her little finger. Jaemin turned to face her, her lovely smile igniting something inside him. "I'll make another one for you," Yujin said, offering out her pinkie finger. Jaemin raised his finger and tied it with her as a promise.
"Do you have any dreams, Jaemin?" the girl wondered as they swung back and forth. Jaemin nodded, a warm smile on his face. "I want to be a doctor like my daddy," he said. "Do you believe your dream may come true, angel?" he asked gently. Yujin laughed.
"Anything is possible in this world Jaemin"
In the darkness of the night, her laughter was like music to his ears, and he felt a soothing touch in his chest. "Come in, Yujin, it's late," her mother shouted as she pushed open the door. Jaemin could see his mom waving from their yard. Jaemin slid from the swing.
"Bye nana," Yujin screamed, urging him to slow down and stop. "Bye, angel," he replied as they both entered their own homes. "New friend Jaeminie?" his mother teased the red-faced child. Jaemin nodded, a charming smile on his face. "See you again, angel,".
Yujin stands at Jaemin's doorway, holding the newly made flower crown. She rang the bell and waited for a girl to appear. "Oh hey Bi," Yujin said, but the other girl didn't reply with much more than a faint smile. "Can you give it to Nana?" she said, handing out the crown.
The girl's gaze is drawn to it before she takes it from Yujin's hands. "Nana? You're talking about Grandma, right? "Her brow pinched. "No, nana Jaemin," Yujin answered, tilting her head. "I told you that I'll call him nana," Yujin said. The girl shrugged, backed away, and shut the door.
Yujin winced at the loud bang, startled that Bi had closed the door in front of her face barely uttering any. The girl walked to her house after taking a look around. She came to a halt for a few time to glance back with the unsettling emotion in her chest. "See you soon, Nana.".
"Can we have my birthday at Nana's place again next year, Mommy?" Jaemin spoke from the passenger seat. "Why? Do you want to see Angel? "teased his mother. Jaemin nods heartily. "She promised me a new flower crown," the boy murmured as he looked out the window.
Their car slowly drove away from his grandmother's house, as well as the view of Yujin's house receded in his sight. Bi's eyes watered as she recalled what occurred that morning, when Ri threw away the flower crown Yujin had crafted. She felt awful about not telling him, but she is also scared of Ri.
Memories that seemed to fade with time in Jaemin's memory as he slowly and eventually forgot about the angel who had once brought light into his life, even only for a few while.
