Andrea recommends Jackson's niece to be our house help. She came from a poor family in Africa. Ang maganda pa ay ayos lang sa kanya ang maliit na sahod.
"I love you sissy.."I gave Andy a tight hug.
"Go and give me some good news."may pagkumpas pa ng kamay na wika niya.
I nodded at her.
Sobrang dami ng naitulong sa akin ni Andrea at Jackson. Nagpapasalamat ako at mayroon akong kaibigan na katulad nila. Promise babawi ako sa kanya kapag nakaluwag ako.
Iniisip ko kung saan ako mag-aapply ng trabaho. Sa dami ng gastusin sa tingin ko ay kulang ang isang trabaho.
I am walking at the alley of Texas when I heard two teens talking.
"Girl,let's try this Cafe..They said that it taste good here..."
I looked at the sign board they are looking at.
Jill's Cafe
Hmm..I'll try my luck.
Papasok na sana ako sa loob ng Cafe kasunod noong dalawang teenager nang may lumabas sa pinto..
A short haired woman wearing a sun protection eyeglasses. The glass is smokey that hide her eyes. Humagod ang tingin ko sa kanya. Nakasuot siya ng flat cap na kulay black. She wears a white long sleeve polo shirt with red checkered neck tie and black slacks. May suot din siya na black apron.
I pressumed she is an employee of the Cafe.
"Hello..."she greeted me. Hinayon niya ng tingin ang dala kong papel."What can I do for you?"
"Ah...I need a job."
"What can you do?"
"I can cook British,Texas and Filipino food,I can bake and I can make good coffee.."
She stood there giving me a long stare. She did not say a word. Despite her eyeglasses I can feel the intensity of her stare. Titig na titig siya kaya nakaka-intimidate.
I faked a cough.
"I have my qualifications and experienced here. You can check my resume--"
"You are hired."
My mouth part.
"I am h-ired?"hindi makapaniwala kong wika noong makahuma sa pagkagulat.
The woman flashes her perfect set of white teeth.
"Yes. By the way,I am Jill."
Napatingin ako sa sign board at sa kanya.
"Oh..you are the owner.."
"Uhum. Welcome to my Cafe. You can start now."she grinned.
"Thank you!"I bowed.
"You can only bow your head with a princess and I am not."she gave me a sweet smile.
Nag-angat ako ng ulo at tipid na ngumiti. I can't believe I got a job that easy. Ang bait pa ng may ari. I feel so blessed.

Nagsimula na akong magtrabaho. Mukhang hindi ko na kailangan ng isa pang trabaho dahil malaking magpasahod si Mam Jill.
Ipinasuot sa akin ang uniform ng Jill's Cafe. Long sleeved white polo with a red checkered neck tie and black skirt. I thought it was slacks like what Mam Jill wears instead of skirt.
Oops! Ang larawang ito ay hindi sumusunod sa aming mga alituntunin sa nilalaman. Upang magpatuloy sa pag-publish, subukan itong alisin o mag-upload ng bago.
Naiilang ako sa suot ko kasi parang pang college pero kailangan kong isuot kasi ito ang uniform ng Cafe.
Kulang sa tao kaya pinagsimula na ako. Dalawa lang kasi ang empleyado kaya pati si Mam Jill ay nanarbaho na sa Cafe niya. Nag-resign na daw iyong dalawa noong nakaraang linggo. Dahil nandito na ako ay tatlo na kami,dalawang babae at isang lalaki.
Nagpaalam si Mam Jill na aalis dahil may biglaan siyang lakad.
All around kami. Cashier,cook at waiter. Kasalukuyan akong nasa kusina at nagbe-bake ng cookies. Nakalagay na iyong cookies sa microwave at naka-timer.
I heard the kitchen door opened.
"A minute more and the cookies are ready.."I said.
I turned to look at the door. My smile freeze. It seems like the surrounding stopped. My heart skipped a beat then beat rapidly.
I met the same pair of brown eyes two and half years ago. The last time I saw his eyes it is filled with tears but now it is void of emotion. The mischievous glint in his eyes when he is looking at me is gone too.
He seems good than the last time we talk. He looks powerful and intimidating in his brown three piece suit.

"What are you doing here Mrs. White?"his voice is cold. He hates calling me Mrs. White but now it slipped in his mouth like its nothing. It causes a sting in my heart.
I try hard to compose myself.
"I work here.."
"Seems like poverty hits you. I believed you deserve everything."the warm in his eyes is gone. Hindi ako nakapagsalita.
He gave me a cocky look. Hinagod niya ako ng nang-uuyam na tingin bago niya ako tinalikudan.
He really hates me. My heart ached.
