Chapter Fifty-Two: Battle of the Gods

The Kingdom of Vale was a killing field. Many brave men and women, human and Faunus, fighting and dying to save their world from being destroyed by the Kaiju known as King Ghidorah.

It's fitting that the city that hosted the beginning of Ruby's journey as a Huntress, would be the place that ultimately would decide the fate of the world.

Ruby slashed down another Crawler, but one pounced her from her new blind spot and tried to tear her apart.

"Get OFF!" She yelled.

Fire engulfed the Hybrid as it writhed on the ground before dying.

"Right. Forgot I can use magic." Ruby said to herself.

It wasn't entirely her fault for forgetting about her ability. After all, they were still a relatively new skill that she just got the hang of using.

Thanks to Mothra.

"Mothra..." She said as tears fell from her remaining eye.

She didn't have time to mourn right now, however as another Hybrid pounced at her, but was suddenly intercepted by something.

To her shock, a Grimm had saved her. A Beowolf.

A roar that could only belong to Godzilla rang out across the city, and the sky, ground and sea seemed to turn black with the Creatures of Grimm flooding in and fighting Ghidorah's Hybrids.

Leviathans and Dragons fought Hydras, while Goliaths and King Taijitsu battled Behemoths, and smaller Grimm fought smaller Hybrids.

The Grimm noticeably ignored humans and Faunus they happened across and even aided them.

"Now then, Ghidorah." Godzilla said. "It's time we finished this!"

"Agreed." Ghidorah replied.

The two roared at each other as they full on charged at one another, both colliding which caused a shockwave to be generated that went across the whole city.

The Battle of the Gods had begun.

Godzilla broke the struggle by stepping to Ghidorah's side and then threw him into a building, before grabbing him again and charging his arm with energy, he smacked Ghidorah across all three of his faces.

Ghidorah recovered quickly and fired gravitons to pick up rubble to try and bury Godzilla.

But Godzilla had an answer for this.

Purple energy condensed in a ring above him and with a bellow, beams of purple light collided with the floating debris, destroying them.

The dust settled and Godzilla's entire body was glowing purple, almost like his burning form but it seemed more controlled.

Godzilla bent down, his spines glowing and he fired numerous beams into the air.

A few seconds later, the beams collided with Ghidorah, and the King of Terror roared in pain and annoyance.

Ghidorah lashed out with one of his heads, only for Godzilla to bat it aside. Ghidorah grabbed his arm and pulled Godzilla to him, but was hit in the chest by Godzilla's tail.

Ghidorah roared at Godzilla and received a claw swipe for his troubles.

Godzilla went for another, but Ghidorah grabbed both his arms and his throat and then choke slammed him.

Godzilla ripped Ghidorah off him, and then blasted Ghidorah point blank with his Atomic Breath, sending him flying backwards.

"Grrr... Impressive." Ghidorah said. "Credit where it's due, I guess. But even though you have the power of the God of Darkness, you can't save this planet, Godzilla. You will perish along with it."
