Vale was in panic as the explosion that Godzilla unleashed drew closer to the city, incinerating anything caught in it.

"GET THOSE SHIELDS UP, NOW!" Ironwood ordered.

"WE'RE TRYING, SIR! BUT THE EFFECTS OF THE EMP HAVEN'T WORN OFF YET!" A soldier responded.

Muto and Mothra reentered Vale as the blast wave engulfed the corpse of the large Crawler, erasing it entirely.

Mothra called on all her magical powers and conjured a shield around the city to protect it from the explosion.

The blast wave collided with Mothra's barrier almost as soon as it was fully up, but the force of the blast shattered the barrier after a few moments.

To everyone's surprise however, the blast didn't kill the surviving fighters, or damage the buildings in the city, but it did incinerate the dead Crawlers.

Salem saw the blast from Beacon, and when it reached the school, it felt like she was burning alive.

Salem screamed in pure agony as her body was scorched.

Almost as soon as the blast wave reached the outskirts of Vale, a pulse flew across the fiery red explosion and the wave receded back to its origin point.

Salem fell to her knees as she stared at her burned body, and saw that they didn't immediately heal.

She looked at her body, her arms and her legs, but the burns weren't healing. Then what Godzilla said to her rang out in her head.

"I've killed immortals before."

To Salem, it was now very clear to her that the King of the Monsters was not bluffing about killing immortals, and for the first time since she had been cursed by the gods with immortality, she felt vulnerable.

And a foe that could kill her at any point, scared her far more than Ghidorah ever could.

As the ash settled on the Emerald Forest, all could feel the eerie silence near the crater where the explosion happened.

After a few hours, an armored hand grabbed the edge of the crater. Godzilla hauled himself out of the hole he had created, and seemed very exhausted.

He paused to rest for a moment, before mustering what energy he had left and made his way to Vale.

Mothra and Muto had returned to their Faunus forms and surveyed the battlefield.

The Crawlers were killed, and Vale was saved, but the cost of such a victory was far too steep.

Truly, this 'victory' if it could be called one, was very bittersweet.

The survivors went around collecting the bodies of their fallen comrades, many of which were in such a mutilated state that there wasn't enough of them to fit in coffins.

Of the Huntsmen who died in the battle, were the remaining members of Team SSSN, Scarlet David, Sage Ayana, and Neptune Vasilias. Though their corpses were mostly intact, they were missing a few limbs.

Team CFVY also numbered among the dead. Coco Adel, Fox Alistair, Velvet Scarlatina, and Yatsuhashi Daichi were found on the frontlines and were only identified by their weapons and their attire.

Godzilla managed to enter Vale before collapsing from exhaustion. His body, fatigued by fighting so many enemies alone, was pushed to the brink when he used his last resort move.

Team Godzilla found him and brought him back to Beacon, and wondered what the future held for them.

As for Team RWBY, they survived the battle, but now had their share of battle scars.

Though for a certain Dusty old Qrow, this would be his last fight.

Ruby held her dead uncle in her arms, crying as her teacher, uncle and role model lay lifeless before her.

Weiss and Blake comforted the sisters as they grieved for their Uncle Qrow.

The Kaiju, for their part were silent. They knew that saying anything would be a mistake right now.

Mothra started singing a farewell song, so that the spirits of the dead may pass on in peace.

-Beacon, many hours after the Siege of Vale.-

Ironwood entered Ozpin's old office, and contacted his R&D Director.

"Ah, General." He said. "I understand that Vale is safe?"

"For the moment." Ironwood admitted. "We lost a lot of lives defending this city. The Kaiju helped in the defense, but we can't rely on them anymore. How's our new project coming along?"

"Well, this isn't Atlas, but the project is almost ready. We've affectionately called it, Project Mechagodzilla." The doctor reported. "Now, it is modelled after Godzilla himself, in fact it's main weapon was inspired by his Atomic Breath attack. But, at your request, Mechagodzilla is outfitted with the most advanced Anti-Grimm weaponry at our disposal."

"Good." Ironwood replied. "I want the results from its tests as soon as you get them. And, Yin? Best not to tell Godzilla about this."

"Yes sir." Yin said.

And that's a wrap. Also, say hi to Mechagodzilla! Oh, the tension is about to get real, and someone's about to lose the trust of a powerful ally. As always though, comment, rate and leave advise so I can improve. Next chapter out soon. Have a good night guys.

(What song could be more fitting for a machine, than this one?)

(Mechagodzilla.)
