The Fat Lady has finally returned to her position outside Gryffindor Tower on the condition that she would have more protection. Trolls were now stationed in front of Gryffindor Tower. Sir Cadogan was officially fired. It served him right. Imagine if Ron hadn't woken up. Sirius Black could've killed him or Harry. He was right there.

It wasn't hard to see that the castle was being more heavily protected. Flitwick made sure all the guards would recognize Sirius Black and all of the staff seemed to be on edge.

Ron had been getting an unusual amount of attention. He seemed to enjoy it, acting as a celebrity while he told curious students extensive and over dramatic stories of Sirius Black.

"Oh, look at him. I think the fame is getting to him," Hermione snapped sarcastically.

Hermione and I were still not on the best of terms with Ron and Harry. Well, Harry and I talked whenever we could, but we mostly went our separate ways. Harry with Ron and me with Hermione.

We've also been spending a lot of time with Hagrid and Buckbeak when Hermione wasn't vigorously working on schoolwork. Hermione and I managed to find some good things for Hagrid on Buckbeak's case. The poor Hippogriff doesn't deserve anything the Malfoy's will do to him.

"We've found some good notes for you, Hagrid. Since the case is on Friday, you'll have plenty of time to look these over," Hermione says as she hands Hagrid a small pile of notes.

"Thanks yer two!" Hagrid says gleefully.

"Of course, Hagrid! I can't imagine what I would do if something horrible had happened to Buckbeak," I sigh as I look out the window at the Hippogriff who was playfully jumping about.

"How have you been?" Hagrid asks. We all sit down and he pours us some tea.

"Honestly, it hasn't been good lately. Harry and Ron will barely even talk to us and I'm very busy with all the classes I'm taking. I feel horrible about Ron's rat and I was so worried when he almost got stabbed, Hagrid," Hermione says. A few tears slipped down her cheeks. Her lip trembles a little. I reach over and pat her back to comfort her.

"It's gettin' dark. You two should head back now ter the castle. Sorry, 'ermione. Hang in there. I really appreciate all ye've done fer me," Hagrid says as he pats each of us on the hand.

"Good luck on your case, Hagrid," I say as we head out the door of Hagrid's hut.

I grab a dead ferret and toss it to Buckbeak, who happily jumps to snatch it in his mouth.

A new notice on the bulletin board alerted us that a new Hogsmeade trip would be next weekend.

"Filch doesn't have any idea about the passage in Honeyduke's," I hear Harry whisper to Ron.

"Harry—" Hermione snaps.

"Do you hear something?" Ron asks with venom in his voice.

"Harry! If you go to Hogsmeade, I'm telling Professor McGonagall about the Marauder's Map!" Hermione said.

"You will what?!" Harry said.

"Sirius Black was just in the castle, Harry! And you should be ashamed of yourself, Ron! You would think after Black tried to stab you that you would be more careful!" Hermione shot back.

All of a sudden, Crookshanks appears at Hermione's feet, hissing at Ron. Fearful, Hermione picks up Crookshanks and walks away.

"Will you tell Professor McGonagall on me, Y/N?" Harry asks.
