The minute we stepped through the portrait hole and inside the Gryffindor common room, we were met with a raging party. I laugh as Fred and George pull us to the center of the crowd.

"We knew you wouldn't die, Harry!" Fred shouts.

"We were betting on you from the start!" George chorused.

"I suppose that's why you were saying 'Go dragon!' earlier!" I reply with a laugh.

"Hear what you want, Diggory," George shrugs with a grin before twirling me around.

Seamus Finnigan grabs Harry's egg and spins it around in his hand before handing it back, "Open it, Harry!"

"Yeah, come on! What's the clue?" Dean Thomas says eagerly. The whole crowd shouts in agreement.

"Harry's supposed to work out the clue on his own," Hermione says.

"I was supposed to work out how to defeat that dragon on my own, too," Harry replies, giving me a wink. My heart flutters and I can't help but just grin back.

"Open it, Harry!" the crowd chants.

Harry twists open the top and pries the egg open. The moment he does, a horrible, gut-wrenching scream erupts. I cover my ears and several people scream for it to stop. When Harry finally slams it shut, there's a long wave of silence.

"What the hell was that?" I say.

"It sounded like a banshee," Seamus Finnigan says. He shivers. I remember last year that his boggart was a banshee.

"It was someone being tortured! You'll have to face the Cruciatus Curse!" Neville exclaims, panicked.

"Nah, they wouldn't do that, Neville. That's illegal," Fred says, giving Neville a pat on the back.

"I though it sounded like Percy's singing," George says and the whole common room starts laughing uncontrollably.

Professor McGonagall had ordered a meeting for Gryffindor in her classroom. As we filed in, everyone noticed her room was very different. There was a big open space in the middle and a section of chairs on either side.

"Girls, come to this side, please. Boys, over on that side," Professor McGonagall led the students to their seats.

I sit down next to Hermione and see Harry file in next to Ron on the other side. Harry waves at me when he notices me staring. I blush and wave back, then turn to Hermione.

"I wonder what this is all about," I whisper.

"I'm not sure. I heard some Beauxbatons girls in the library whispering about some big event that's supposed to happen on Christmas," Hermione whispers  back.

"Thank you for coming," McGonagall says, "A special event will be coming up on Christmas Day. The Yule Ball is a dance that is tradition in the Triwizard Tournament. This dance will be open to years four and above—however those wishing to invite a younger student may do so." Lavender Brown let out a loud giggle and Parvati Patil from next to her covered her mouth, but was also trying hard not to laugh herself.

"Maybe she's planning on inviting Colin Creevey," I whisper to Hermione and we both start giggling. We weren't being obnoxious about it, though.

"I expect all of you to wear dress robes and look presentable. This event is very formal and I will not have you embarrass Hogwarts by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons!" Professor McGonagall says.

Ron whispers something to Harry and then proceeds to snicker loudly.

"Mr. Weasley," Professor McGonagall says.
