I smiled walking towards Obi-Wan.
"Don't look too happy to see me" I said.
"On the contrary, I was expecting Anakin" he said.
"He got tied up with something" I said.
"And Cal?" He asked.
"Some much needed time with my old master" I said.
"Fair enough" he said. "You bring Gree and the 41st?"
"Hate to go anywhere without them" I said.
I held my hands behind my back as Obi-Wan spoke.
"The safety of the Duchess Satine is of the utmost importance" he said. "The Death Watch will stop at nothing to assassinate her before she pleads her case to the Senate."
"The Death Watch may be backed by the Separatists so stay sharp" I said. "R-2, use your scammers to probe for any suspicious droid activity."
He beeped as I smiled.
"Anything else, sir?" Gree asked.
"No, that will be all" Obi-Wan said.
I looked at Obi-Wan as his comm beeped.
"Yes?" He said.
"The duchess and her retinue requests your presence" they said.
"Very well" he said.
We walked into the lift as I side eyed Obi-Wan.
"I sense some anxiety from you about the duchess" I said. "She couldn't be in safer hands."
"Yes, I know" he said.
I looked at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Then why-" I said.
"Never mind, it's all in the past" he said.
"Oh, so you're close to her?" I asked.
"I knew her" he snapped. "A long time ago."
I hid a smile as the doors opened.
"So why do you have R-2?" He asked as we walked down the hall. "Anakin trusts him with almost nobody. I've never seen him with anyone besides Anakin."
"Perhaps he's started to have a change of heart?" I said.
"Only for you" he said. "Don't think after all these years I haven't noticed."
"I have no idea what you're talking about" I said.
"Mhm, yes, neither does Anakin" he said.
We walked through the doors as Obi-Wan interrupted the duchess's little speech.
"And yet some might argue that the strongest defense is a swift and decisive offense" he said.
I watched as they never broke eye contact.
"You are quite the general now aren't you, Master Kenobi?" She said.
"Forgive me for interrupting, Your Highness. I meant no disrespect" he said.
"Really?" She said. "Senators, I presume you are acquainted with the collection of half truths and hyperbole known as Obi-Wan Kenobi?"
"Your Highness is too kind" he said.
"You're right, I am" she said.
I faked a cough as she looked at me.
"Allow me to introduce my fellow Jedi, Luna Organa" he said.
