Cal and I walked into the temple as he went to his quarters. I walked down the hall to mine as Kit Fisto smiled approaching me.
"You are wanted in the council chambers" he said.
I looked at him confused as I followed him to the chambers. Mace, Yoda, Ki-Adi Mundi and then Kit Fisto all sat before me.
"Uh, what is this about?" I asked.
"This has been discussed for some time now, Luna" Mace said.
"Rank of Master, you will be" Yoda said. "On the council, you are now."
"What?" I said not believing the words. "I hardly care about the rank of master or to be on the council."
"It is something that is long overdue and well deserved" Fisto said. "Everyone on this council and many more Jedi, respect you beyond your comprehension."
"You have proved yourself time and time again what a Jedi truly is" Mundi said.
I was stunned by his words as he hardly complimented me. I looked at Mace who cracked a smile.
"Thank you" I said. "Uh- I don't really know what else to say."
"No 'thank you' is necessary" Mace said. "I'm glad I had the privilege of being your master. And Cal is lucky to have you as his master to show him the way of the Jedi."
I smiled, bowing before leaving the chambers. I took a deep breath walking to my quarters. I sat at the edge of my bed as someone knocked on the door. I opened the door to Cal smiling.
"Up for a bit of training?" He asked.
"We just got back from a mission, you don't even want to rest?" I asked.
"You never rested" he said. "Scared I'm gonna beat you?"
"You're on" I said.
We walked down the hall together as Younglings smiled, pointing to us. Cal waved to them, making them smile even more.
"I've noticed something" he said. "Going on missions with both you and Master Skywalker."
"Which is?" I asked.
"Aren't Jedi's not supposed to form attachments?" He asked.
"Before you met me, what did you see me as?" I asked. "What did you hear?"
"That you are the perfect Jedi" he said.
"I'm far from" I said. "Jedi must not form attachments. I had a conversation like this with Ahsoka. Attachments can create corruptions but not always."
"I never understood the no attachments rule" he said.
We stood outside now as I listened to the wind blow.
"I never meant to form an attachment with him. But we spent countless days together, with no one else talk to. I grew to care for him without even realizing it. If anyone on the council found out, more than likely we would be kicked out of the order" I said.
"Have you ever thought about leaving?" He asked.
"We did" I said. "But it's all we know. My family on Alderaan aren't exactly friendly, and Anakin has none. I think Obi-Wan and Mace know but turn a blind eye."
I looked at Cal, smiling.
"I wouldn't want you to leave anyway" he said. "Wouldn't want anyone else as a master."
"You're a great padawan, Cal" I smiled. "It's truly an honor to be your master and to watch you grow."
A shuttle landed with Anakin storming off.
