The lunch was superb. Are all meals served here in Pelipia this good? If so, adopting would not be difficult at all.
"We'll go around the ranch while you girls bake, I have to keep Louie from here or nothing's going out of the kitchen." Calix said.
"You sold me out man!"
"Come on, you'll have some later."
"Make mine always double bakers."
And they left.
"Its been a long time Louie hasn't been here." Claire said.
"Did he used to be always here before?"
"Yes, every weekend they are here. That is why we have been pretty close with the King and Queen, we always host dinner for them."
"What happened then?"
"When Calix went to study in California, Louie seldom go here, he frequently visits when Calix is here. It was all going fine, like they didn't lose any contact. And then, there came Tatiana, at first, it was Calix and Tatiana then came Calix-Tatiana-Louie, and then Tatiana-Louie."
"They went out?"
"No no no. She just started to be more close to Louie more than what she should be to my brother."
"Do you like her?"
"I always knew there's something about her. The way she looks and act, its nothing normal."
"Like what?"
"She's so stiff. She giggles at almost anything that Louie says, she pays more attention to what he says more than what my brother does. I always tell Calix that I don't like her but he never listen."
"Do you think Calix is mad at Louie?"
"No, I don't think so. I think he keeps on remembering Tatiana when Louie's around, so it gets awkward. Beside that, I think there's nothing wrong between the two of them. "
How deeply wounded is Calix? Will it help if he will tell Louie? I think there's nothing to tell anyway considering that nothing happened between Tatiana and Louie. I don't like seeing Calix as sad as he is everytime Tatiana is around. He looks like a lost puppy, like he is just waiting to be called or whatever.
"What should we do first? Brownies or cookies?" Claire said taking me away from my thoughts.
"Brownies? I don't like to eat brownies straight from the oven."
"Brownies then."
I smiled looking at Claire. Has Calix been like her before Tatiana? A very happy looking individual.
"How old are you?"
"10"
"Doesn't seem like it. You're so smart and very talented. You play piano?"
"Thanks Cassey. Yes, my mother taught us."
"Now I'm blown away."I said. She giggled.
"I can teach you if you want."
"Really? That's great. I'm sure I could use that here. Do you play at balls?"
"Sometimes, but I always stay in the kitchen to see how they prepare desserts. Will you still be here on Louie's birthday?"
"Yes, I will be staying here after the camp ends."
"We could stay at the kitchen. I'll introduce you to Chef Clayton and Chef Nica, their works are amazing!"
"That would be great! I'd love to learn more recipes."
"Do you have a dress yet?"
"I don't know. But I can say that Mamu is on it. She'll never miss that."
